No kidding. Going through it now, I just can't believe there isn't a faster way to do this, like some kind of "master link" that is quick to install. The last few links are pretty tricky on a 48" belt.
Maybe I'm missing something. Would it not be easier to weave the joining wire through both belt-ends from left to right (or right to left), like sewing? Then, as the last step, clip the two wire-ends into place.
