Santa is a modern version of the Germanic version of St. Nicholas (there were multiple stories about Saint Nicholas originating from Greek Orthodoxy), either way, the original St. Nic was the protector of children and sailors. The Germanic St. Nic was told to deliver presents to children who had been well-behaved. On the evening of the 5th of December Kids would put a stocking on their front door and the well-behaved would get a present, the naughty ones would receive a stick on the morning of the 6th of December.

USD$20,000.00 well spent.
