Rowoon has a very unique way of acting and that is portraying emotions through his eyes, his eyes hold a lot of feeling without even saying them we can understand what he feels and I think that is his biggest quality as an actor so even if he has a small without much lines he will still steal the scene with his presence rooting for you Rowoon' ssi
That's exactly how I feel about his acting too! His microexpressions are really subtle but his eyes are so expressive. Unfortunately there are many knetz who criticised his acting :/
@@andreatan2738 that is because they havent understood his character. K-netz have this notion that a joseon man is always a tough personality.
Most comments i saw in the qoo arcticle were how he is being too funny well that is how his character is. I hope they break this stereotype of having a joseon man with a cold personality.
Other than that i think news articles are actually praising his acting and voice tone.

I know that being cold and ruthless sometimes give you the aura of being cool and dreamy but if the character is not all about that, then he still portrays it very good, what's wrong being funny? Like he really is funny and cute in this drama, since we already saw him being quiet, aloof and cool in extraordinary you, kind and romantic in she would never know. It's good to see him portrays another role, the different side of him, and if he delivers it very well then he really is good in his craft being an actor..

Heck there were many comments also dissing the other main actors. Imo rowoon has nailed his role perfectly. It is a nice and rare change that we have a laid back male lead anf a cold and ruthless female lead.

Yeah, actresses who can carry it off are gems. The actress, Moon Guen-young, for Painter of the Wind also did a good job. Lee Yo-won for Queen Seon Deok is another who can carry it off too and she has the height for it; she's around 1.75 cm tall I think. That makes three actress who hit the target when it comes to period cross-dressing; Park Eun-bin, Lee Yo-won and Moon Guen-young.
Production values also count towards success in such storytelling; whether the character is dressed appropriately and convincingly as a woman pretending to be a man and the character is acting appropriately according to the role she is assuming.
There're Korean period dramas / films that feature cross-dressing but they're unconvincing due to; no attempt to portray the char as such, zero practical dressing. They're failures. That's just my point of view as I feel it's a waste of time to watch such dramas / films since it's clear the producers are not serious or have other agendas in mind. Of course, if the drama / film is a comedy, then it doesn't matter.
Her being an androgynous beauty is actually the reason why I started watching the show earlier because I like that it's believable.
