People don't realize how important this is and sometimes think that as long as your editing is well done and you have cool effects, then you're good to go. But it takes so much more! If you're going to be talking to an audience, then you need to build your presence with being on camera!
TOTALLY agree about not being so focused on the numbers. Set personal goals like the number of videos you want to build on your channel, QUALITY content or building a better presence on camera. It’s what keeps me going.

As much as there is a TH-cam algorithm people still gravitate to personality. I've learned that people like value. What can you teach them? What Can you teach them about themselves? Are you able to connect? As long as the value is coupled with consistency it helps. I have videos that range from 100K to 25 views. But I never planned to reach specific views it simply was based on how helpful or how connected viewers were to my content. Your content is so informative and helpful. Thank you! 🙏💕

We never see what someone is coming into the process with and what they learned or all the years of hard work they put in before becoming an “overnight success”. My goal is to start my channel (this year) and I truly can say that your personality is what sets you apart from other videos i've watched in the same category. I know some ppl will probably be offended but I get very excited when I see minorities (Blacks, Hispanic, etc.) on YT because I feel like most mommy bloggers/TH-camrs all look the same, that's the kind of channel I'm going to start. That last part when you said maybe the method to help us grow hasn't been done yet, you became my favorite! As someone who is studying communications as well it’s refreshing to hear you talk about how your experience “off camera” is different than perceived experience “on camera”. You may not have many videos, but you can tell the work was put in well before your first video came out just from the life you’ve lived. You’ve continued to analyze your progress and with that your content keeps getting better and better. The thing about "similar" creators is that you can SHARE an audience! Nobody watches one TH-camr and that's it. Granted, you do have to fit into search and home pages but still. It can happen. Focus on creating good content over defeating your potential allies.
This make so much sense. Although Erin created her results on yt and business fast, people are not understanding that she had loads of experience in front of the camera. Now she’s helping us to build our brands, story telling, messaging and to get more comfortable in front of the camera. We should stop 🛑 comparing ourselves to her speedy success. We have to listen to her advice and run our own race (marathon NOT a sprint) *Her results are not average!!* I’m just starting out this year as well and haven’t quite reached 100 subs yet. There was always something that drew me into your content as you are so funny, relatable, and eloquent. I'm starting out my TH-cam journey and I definitely still feel awkward on camera, but all I can do is continue to practice practice practice and try to churn out valuable content. This was right on time! I'm going live at the end of the month and recording + editing has been WORK! I think camera presence is mainly what I need more practice with -- sometimes I'll find myself yelling at the camera, trying to "insert my personality" and it doesn't do anything but come off weird and strain my voice LOL. I'm glad I caught myself at this point but being more comfortable and friendly in front of the camera is what I'm working on and trying not to let get me too caught up

I'm a growing youtuber too and the "what am i doing wrong" question once hit me at the beginning. Most especially cos I'd never been in the media world, never had any on-camera experience and absolutely zero editing skills. My biggest struggle when it comes to TH-cam is that I freak out when I have to speak in front of the camera, hence it ends up taking me up to 5 hours to record a single video

Im just starting out on TH-cam and I find myself constantly feeling pressured to have thousands of subscribers and being perfect like some of my favorite youtubers. often times I find myself comparing to others, which obviously isn't very helpful. I would say my biggest struggle right now with TH-cam is staying consistent and staying true to myself, my time will come and I need to just keep working hard until I get there!
"It takes three seconds to subscribe" so true my goal for my first year is 20,000 and I'm at 57 after 6 months but I still love youtube and have so fun making videos so I will continue working hard

I’m making all these continuous comments. But I’m loving this! That’s why I decided to start sharing more of my experience as being an author and publishing to help others. I remember when I had to learn and it was hard finding people who really wanted to help.
My biggest struggle has been the niche area. But I honestly feel like it has been revealed to me this past week.... so now it’s the branding I need to do
That last part when you said maybe the method to help us grow hasn't been done yet, you became my favorite! I can definitely stop trying to make everything 110% perfect before I do it and just put my best foot forward and see what does or doesn't work for me as I go along, I feel like I know to know everything about something before I start.
As someone who is studying communications as well it’s refreshing to hear you talk about how your experience “off camera” is different than perceived experience “on camera”. You may not have many videos, but you can tell the work was put in well before your first video came out just from the life you’ve lived. You’ve continued to analyze your progress and with that your content keeps getting better and better. It must have been lonely starting out on a platform with a skill you knew you had but the online world didn’t. Thanks Erin, congrats!!! 🎉

Trust is a big thing, too. I never get the sense that you're making something up. It's inspiring to learn from your expertise. Finally, you've very REAL (you even showed us your sick day) and you definitely have an "It" factor that made it easy to subscribe.
It's not like it happened randomly, you have so many positives here! I notice that a lot of people bewildered about the growth of others aren't genuinely looking at their content and asking themselves how it's helping, inspiring, or entertaining others.

My biggest struggle is getting started. I have all these ideas, and I have to push myself to finally execute them. The thing about "similar" creators is that you can SHARE an audience! Nobody watches one TH-camr and that's it. Granted, you do have to fit into search and home pages but still. It can happen. Focus on creating good content over defeating your potential allies.

This make so much sense. Although Erin created her results on yt and business fast, people are not understanding that she had loads of experience in front of the camera. Now she’s helping us to build our brands, story telling, messaging and to get more comfortable in front of the camera. We should stop 🛑 comparing ourselves to her speedy success. We have to listen to her advice and run our own race (marathon NOT a sprint) *Her results are not average!!* I’m just starting out this year as well and haven’t quite reached 100 subs yet. For me, I think my achilles heal is the vulnerability factor, but I've decided this year, we off that! This was right on time! I'm going live at the end of the month and recording + editing has been WORK! I think camera presence is mainly what I need more practice with -- sometimes I'll find myself yelling at the camera, trying to "insert my personality" and it doesn't do anything but come off weird and strain my voice LOL. I'm glad I caught myself at this point but being more comfortable and friendly in front of the camera is what I'm working on and trying not to let get me too caught up

I'm a growing youtuber too and the "what am i doing wrong" question once hit me at the beginning. Most especially cos I'd never been in the media world, never had any on-camera experience and absolutely zero editing skills. But since I chose to go at my own pace and focus on making editing a hobby, i found myself always wanting to make more videos and my channel's been growing; slowly but steadily :)

My biggest struggle when it comes to TH-cam is that I freak out when I have to speak in front of the camera, hence it ends up taking me up to 5 hours to record a single video

Im just starting out on TH-cam and I find myself constantly feeling pressured to have thousands of subscribers and being perfect like some of my favorite youtubers. often times I find myself comparing to others, which obviously isn't very helpful. I would say my biggest struggle right now with TH-cam is staying consistent and staying true to myself, my time will come and I need to just keep working hard until I get there!
"It takes three seconds to subscribe" so true my goal for my first year is 20,000 and I'm at 57 after 6 months but I still love youtube and have so fun making videos so I will continue working hard
