  • Mesa Falls is located on the Caribou-Targhee National Forest in Idaho. The Mesa Falls Scenic Byway takes you to two of the last undisturbed waterfalls in the West. Upper and Lower Mesa Falls are the last major falls in Idaho that have not been used for irrigation or hydroelectric projects. They offer spectacular views in a beautiful forest setting. The upper waterfall at the Mesa Falls Visitor Center has been developed with paths and viewing areas and is easily accessible to all. The best view is from Grandview Campground and Overlook. The Mesa Falls Visitor Center has drinking water, restrooms, and gift shop. Visitors also enjoy the fur room in the visitor center and looking through the telescope on the visitor center porch to view the osprey nest.

Where exactly do both the missouri & snake rivers start? I mean, as close as can be pinpointed & that figures in where streams etc connect to form the snake and missouri. I knew both started on either side of targhee ntl forest

Don't know where the Missouri River starts but as for the Snake, it starts in two places. There are two forks, the North (or Henry's) Fork and the South Fork. The North Fork starts at Big Springs just upriver from where this video was filmed. It just bubbles right up out of the ground. The South Fork starts over by Jackson, Wyoming at Jackson Lake.
