I understand where Shroud is coming from, and he's definitely right that the wall is best used in its most straightforward application. That being said, I think that, on the occasional round, being able to whip out a completely unpredictable off-angle and potentially getting one or more kills off of it, is a legitimate and unexplored tactic involving Sage's wall. While it's certainly gimmicky, I also believe that in certain situations it could sneak a free pick needed to secure a round
I agree. I always hated when ppl did crazy shit like this for content in ranked games but then again some off angles with the sage walls are round winning like back in the days when sick was maining sage, he was winning so many rounds for sentinels by his off angle walls
Grim can do these flashy plays and it suits him because his aim is great and he is creating content for youtube (similar to how flights plays raze)....shroud is actually spitting facts about people who try and copy these "tiktok" walls of his in ranked thinking that they would give them an edge over the enemy or make them better at the game without having the basics of the game down like aim, counter strafe, etc. P.S. i think that sage's walls is fulfile what its meaned to be. Defending the area by blocking path, vision or giving you surprised advantages to kill enemies. I played Sage quite lot so i think the sage slow balls is more effective than a wall if i defend an area.
shroud's assessment is fair, but at the same time Grim is honestly balancing creative skills, with developing his own aim skills in the game. Truth is, using these grim walls effectively would need god tieraim, practice, and game sense. Not everyone can do this, and that's why Grim always beats other people trying to do this.
The thing about grim walls is that they're an advantage in ranked. That's not a problem if your goal is only to play ranked so go for it but in pro play or even organized scrims your opponents will learn to play around you doing cheese strats; in pro play they'll actually study your gameplay. That doesn't mean all walls are bad, but consider the massive value of a regular wall in an organized team, it's very rare that any of grims walls reach that same value vs opponents who know how you play. The advantages of grim walls drop drastically the second opponents have practiced against them. Imagine you're playing rock paper scissors and you EXCLUSIVELY go rock vs random opponents you'll achieve a 33~% winrate, vs someone who knows who you are and your history you'll have a 0~% WR. Obviously VAL is a bit different, but if your opponents study you effectively the advantage is about the same as playing an off angle. This is modified by your teammates playing off your position, if you can create a crossfire situationally a grim wall can be good but you still have to weigh it against the normal use of a wall... which is complete information + large stall potential on that choke, that is SUCH an advantage. There is a reason Grim hides his IGN... In the end it boils down to opportunity cost, eg. if you use your wall and they dodge your site you have thrown away at least 50% of the reason for picking sage for zero gain. In a close game that is soft throwing.
shroud is speaking straight facts. These walls are just for clips, it may even work in some ranked games if opponents don't adjust to it but remember if these were actually good, pros would use these.

guys bro shroud spitting facts bro bro no one ever spits it like shroud bro, and grim, no one spits like grim bro aha bro fr bro just research it! aha bro bro
The music....i discovered good kid a year ago from u and this is weirdly nostalgic
the enemy team is so paranoid when playing against you LMAO
shroud is speaking straight facts. These walls are just for clips, it may even work in some ranked games if opponents don't adjust to it but remember if these were actually good, pros would use these.
“What are these Grim walls??” “That is Grim-“
Howd u get such a high quality version of the song wtf
bruh these walls are so good 🦔❄
what vandal skin was that 4:59 tyty
You're the only streamer that made zombs laugh like that HAHAHAHHAA
Grimm is the Sage KAY/O talks about.
why would shroud think Grim takes this game seriously, man's literally a content creator not a pro player
So was shroud? Lmao. Then he got picked up by SEN. difference being, shroud got picked bc he’s actually useful GRIM isn’t. Shroud didn’t even try hard to be part of a team either. It was a spur of the moment convo
Stop getting offended for nothing, listen again what he said
