I agree with you. I find it very hard to believe that Maggie didn't hear the constant blows to the heads of Mrs. and Mr. Borden. One blow, maybe, but they were each hit several times. My theory is that Lizzie and Maggie were both complicit, even if all Maggie did was operated as the lookout. I'm actually inclined to believe that Emma's visiting friends was part of the plan and maybe even the uncle's visit was part of the plan, as well, making the four of them (Lizzie, Emma, the uncle and Maggie) all complicit.
I agree - she must have heard something. She also testified that it took her three quarters of an hour to wash up after breakfast. She was the only witness to place Abby downstairs after 9 am. And she left the house with that carpet bag. The case is fascinating...
Abbys blows were all to the back of her head (autopsy photo is on YT). So she was sneaked up on probably. If the first blow stunned her & sent her sprawling she might have fallen forward but grabbed onto the bed at first, as she was in there changing pillow cases. She also might not have had chance to scream. Her body was half under the bed face down like she was trying to crawl away. It was pulled out from under the bed to be photo'd

I think people wouldn't have a problem blaming Lizzie if she was a male not a female. She is literally defended because she was a woman. Seriously. John had an air tight alibi, yet people are still wanting to pin it on him, regardless that he had no motive and wasn't there at the time, but Lizzy, the greedy ungrateful daughter claims to be in the barn, with no witnesses to verify it, yet she MUST be innocent? It's ludicrous! She hated her step mother and was worried about losing money. She wanted to live on the hill. Well she got what she wanted but somehow, people still think she was innocent because 12 men couldn't believe a woman could be so violent lololol. And btw, so called voices from the dead aren't proof of anything.

Before I listen, I'd like to say that I've always believed that Uncle John murdered Andrew (for the SA of one or both of his nieces) and Emma murdered Abby (whom she despised due to the fact that she nearly became close with Lizzie while Emma was briefly away at a school from which she had been sent home). While Emma was about 15 miles away from home visiting friends, who stated that Emma was gone very early the morning of the murders, returning around lunchtime, she had ample time to make the buggy ride home, do the deed, and return to her friends' home. I believe she was disguised as the 'man' whose buggy sat in front of the Borden home, and later on the street behind. Lizzie was the unwitting scapegoat, as, in their haste to leave the crime scene, John and Emma didn't have a proper alibi prepared for Lizzie. That household was a ticking time bomb. Let's see what Lizzie has to say.
I see quite a few people saying John did it, but that makes no sense whatsoever. People can say he did it all day but can't seem to give a single reason why. Also the murders happened in a time frame where it wouldn't be possible, because he was at his nieces at the same time (approximated) as the murders. It is documented that neighbors called them "not, crazy, but ugly" ( quote). The Borden's weren't good people according to witness testimony. Lizzie was noted as having a short/quick temper, had the motive ( because Abby stood in the way of the inheritance), and someone fitting her description attempted to buy poison the night before. Yes it's circumstantial, but the dress that was burned should have been a huge red flag. During her inquest, her story changed three times and her alibi was weak because the maid was not in the house with her. She was outside on the opposite side of where the room Abby was in, so she wouldn't have heard anything. Had DNA existed, i do believe Lizzie would have hanged.

yep blame the male with an alibi. Would you say she was possessed if she was a man? Time to accept than women can be just if not more violent than men.
@@Billygoatsgrruff agreed. Lizzie didn’t have to be a gentle flower of a woman, she just had to present herself as such. I do believe Lizzie committed this crime, and I have my theories on how she did it, and covered up evidence. People have to do mental gymnastics to defend Lizzie. It’s exhausting.
@@ladylove2310 I think that she could have been involved but I still feel like John and the maid were involved too. Lizabeth was not her name. That was the name she gave herself after she inherited the money and moved to MapleCroft. Emma knew things about Lizzie as did her father, step mother and the town. I don't think she was at all innocent. John Morse lost his chance at the farm in Swansea so it doesn't make sense for him to murder either of them

Okay, here's the thing: 1) No, you did not just solve a 130 year-old murder case (although, I suspect that title was chosen without her knowledge). 2) There is ample evidence to suggest that Lizzie Borden committed the murders. 3) This whole video is patently ridiculous...
She was found not guilty tho, and she lived the rest of her life being disliked by the community of Fall River she carried that with her til she died! Although the letter that Lizzie wrote to her sister Emma “you’ve given me away havent you?” Is sus because it seems she was hiding something?? And Emma says no she hasn’t but if Lizzie did do it then why was she proven not guilty?
That’s not actually them. It’s their own demon, each one of us have one and they’re always with us and will leave when we die. But, if you get murdered your demon would pretty much stick to where you died in sadness and most of them would want revenge. So pretty much it’s their demons in the house waiting for revenge perhaps.

It's sad that people believe to strongly in a judicial system yet when there's an acquittal they don't agree with they continue to treat the accused as guilty. So much for respecting the law and due course. It's sickening to me that throughout time whether it be Lizzie Borden or O.J. Simpson the result is the same. Both, though acquitted, were convicted in the eyes of the public and spent their lives as such. In today's society when you don't agree with an acquittal you just sue for money as that's not nearly as difficult to have a jury hand over. Though a person is acquitted, the system allows others to sue them and take everything they've ever earned or accomplished away from them as if the charge, jailing, attorney fees and destruction of their lives and reputation was sufficient punishment for an accusation which could not be proven in a Court of Law. How can anyone of us believe in such a system that allows further punishment to those not proven guilty in Court to satisfy the public's cry? I believe in our system whether it be right or wrong therefore I cannot support or believe in the ability to sue after a person has been found not guilty. To do so, erases the Legal process and the findings of a Jury. I pray, one day, the law will correct itself and stop allowing such lawsuits as I see this not to be a legal remedy but an act of vengeance while discrediting the Jury's Verdict. Is it possible that we shall ever stop trying the guilty and innocent alike in the Press, Media and Streets or our civilized society or is just the best we can do? I'd rather see a guilty person be freed than an innocent one persecuted. I've read volumes about this particular murder case and even with all the flaws see no evidence or reason for the lifetime sentence Lizzie Borden was given by the public. I thank you for your insightful piece. Well done.
I mean the difference with O.J. Was that he abused Nicole, and also years after the murders committed armed robbery. It’s believed (with pretty good reason) that his lawyers let him know the gloves would be fundamentally important and so he just built muscle in his hand to make sure they wouldn’t fit. I’ve reviewed that case inside and out for law class (we had a mock trial at the end of the year, I was the defence attorney) and there’s nothing but the glove not fitting that would actually prove his innocence (or really just bring his guilt into reasonable doubt) I agree in believing a jury’s verdict, but similarly we shouldn’t have a judicial system that can be so easily manipulated by clever tricks by lawyers. Also I understand what you’re trying to say, but we do quite literally have to try the guilty and the innocent the same to determine whether they are guilty or innocent. In short - OJ is very much not in the same ballpark as Lizzie, there’s a good chance Lizzie is actually innocent, but for him? Not really 😬
@@chess6602 To be fair, there's fairly good evidence that Lizzie Borden committed the crime she was accused of. Not nearly as much as there was for OJ, but still enough that legal historians generally agree on her guilt. The trial and "not guilty" verdict also had a lot to do with attitudes about women and immigrants, as well.
@@flamingmonkays yeah. I suppose the issue with law is that for murder it’s to be proven beyond reasonable doubt. I suppose there is the potential for reasonable doubt in the Borden case in that there’s no DNA testing etc available, nor beyond the occasionally expressed frustrations towards her father was there really a motive (legally if you do murder someone you’re supposed to inherit from you cannot then claim that inheritance). With cases so far in the past it’s easier to let the case lie (at least if you’re a layperson who does not have to study it) as all those affected by it have now died, and there’s just not enough physical evidence to prove one way or another. But no, I don’t think we should be treating the court system as infallible at all - I mean if they can constantly put innocent people in jail and free the guilty then they’re clearly not fool proof. I mean again… OJ walked free with literal mountains of evidence against him because he exercised his hand so a glove wouldn’t fit. Kind of terrifying that the courts can be played like that.
@@flamingmonkays I agree with you one hundred percent. Also an acquittal is not a verdict of being found innocent. It just means they could not find enough evidence to convict her. It does not mean she did not do it.
Has anyone told you about my podcast? I recorded Lizzie's inquest testimony with actors and I just released the first 5 podcasts on TH-cam if that kind of thing interests you.
Respect the passion and production value but there is a quite a lot of information you left off pointing to her guilt. There's nothing unsolved about these murders.

I agree with you on his shoes being put on for the photograph, but the overcoat is off. I think that is how Lizzie protected herself when she committed the murders. She wore that overcoat and placed it under him afterwards. Evidence hiding in plain sight for all these years. Very clever if true.
yes! thank you! Lizzie was innocent! when people ask me what "innocent till proven guilty" means to me I tell them "it means I can be tried and aquitted and 130 years later they are still calling me a killer"
You're confusing the truth of what happened and what the legal system determined. Just because OJ was acquitted doesn't mean he didn't actually do it. It just means the jury didn't find enough evidence to convict. At this point nobody is concerned with the legal findings in the Borden case as they are as to the truth of what happened.

Fill the earth and conquer it. Dominate over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over all the beasts that creep on the earth.”
Just curious. Growing up there, was the story of Lizzie Borden something that was just told to local kids or did you learn about the case on your own? Does she still have a “hold” on the town?
Lizzie did it. Voices coming over a radio device isn't proof of anything at all. Nothing Ms. Amanda came up with in this world contradicts the overwhelming circumstantial evidence of Lizzie's guilt.

Had DNA existed, i do believe Lizzie would have hanged.
this serie is great 👍

I'm old, a retired nurse. Years ago, when I was just starting out, I worked with an old nurse that said she worked with a nurse years ago that claimed she was lizzie's nurse while lizzie was in the local hospital in town. They became friends, she said, and Lizzie told her that her boyfriend did it. Lizzie was accused of being a lesbian, but that was propaganda, she wasn't and she did in fact have a boyfriend at that time. Who knows???
I love that she likes doing this
Before I finish watching this I think lizzie is not the murder because I've read a book about it, but after I watch the video I will being back an aupdate

She could be possibly possessed by an entity which made her do it ,or her uncle could be a shady character as he came home unannounced without any belongings.
yep blame the male with an alibi.
I don't think Lizzie is 100% guilty but her story is shady and what happened after the murders does make me think Lizzie had something to do with it whether that could have been a small part of big part

Well that's 13 minutes & 15 seconds of my life I will never get back!! Pointless!! "Did I just solve a 130yr old murder?" Huh, NO!!!!
1800 ‘s crime wayy to easy to commit ..
Was an app or software you were using on your tablet. And what is it called?
Lizabeth was not her name. That was the name she gave herself after she inherited the money and moved to MapleCroft. Emma knew things about Lizzie as did her father, step mother and the town. I don't think she was at all innocent. John Morse lost his chance at the farm in Swansea so it doesn't make sense for him to murder either of them
I think she is calling her Lizabeth out of respect for the name Lizzie wanted to be called after the murders and trial.
@@sophiamilas6259 I'm sure that's why she's referring to her that way. It's just very fake overall
I agree, she either was the killer or aided the killer. There is to much evidence against her.

2) There is ample evidence to suggest that Lizzie Borden committed the murders.
3) This whole video is patently ridiculous...

That’s an interesting theory🤔

Well done.
So you're saying that people should stop having opinions and just treat the court system as infallible?
She didn't lose her father it was her mum
can u pls help me find my remote tv? Pls….

The shoes were reapplied; sign of respect for the deceased.
I agree with you on his shoes being put on for the photograph, but the overcoat is off. I think that is how Lizzie protected herself when she committed the murders. She wore that overcoat and placed it under him afterwards. Evidence hiding in plain sight for all these years. Very clever if true.
@@ladylove2310brilliant theory.
yes!
She's guilty!
