While I would imagine that the game could start up on Retroarch MAME, I wouldn't expect it to run too well. I used the Model 2 emulator to play this, and that's not available in Retroarch.
The only thing I hated about these type of games was that they were quarter eaters. The bosses releases a barrage of firepower that was always impossible to dodge; thus, leading the game to be a quarter eater. Lol
I have played Zero Gunner 2, but it will still be a little longer before a video is up. I played even worse than expected, but I don't think playing it again would have made all that much difference. Considering it was 2 player, I didn't really have a chance to play it again anyways.
I played this game a few times and had fun. Honestly my favorite aspect is the environments. They're varied and I love 90s arcade graphics.
The Nakajima Gunship is actually based upon the Kawasaki OH-1. Yes, Kawasaki also builds military aircraft and military aircraft engines.

That was the case for almost every arcade game out there. Their main goal was to rob you of quarters.
