Beauty. I have basically the same car. 70 LS5 A/C 4 gear, with power breaks. The numbers 454 is in the garage. I'm running a 700hp 540 with a 5 speed over drive right now. Wakes the old 70 right up.
Dear Stephane, Thanks! I enjoyed meeting the different owners and seeing their cars. I have decided to do some more interviews of this sort and will be continuing the series. Blue Skies & Tailwinds!™ Brian
Dear Dr. Jivan, I'm glad you liked the video. If I had a current email address to Guy I would forward your request. Unfortunately I don't. I think he works at Spirit Aero in Wichita. Maybe you can locate him there. Later, Brian FitzGerald
Hope you’ve got it done by now(‘21) I’ve got a 70 LS5 I bought in 91 haven’t got to it yet (restoration) I like the idea of going back to original tires They’ll be Goodyear “wide tread” raised white letter or white white stripe.Red lines were dropped for 70.
Dr. J, I'm glad you liked the piece. If you want to ask Guy about his car you can email me your address and I will forward it to him. I don't want to post any of my interviewees' addresses on the web. Later, Brian FitzGerald
Hey Brian.... Very cool video! A perfect documentary. Guy did a swell job, too. I have an identical car as Guy's with the exception that it has a small block 350 hp 350 cuin engine and it's the convertible version. Same Year, Color combination, and Vibe! Great cars! Love yer vid, brother!
I know a guy who bought a 70 Hemi Cuda in 1974. In 2005 a guy said How Much. Rod said it wasn't for sale. The guy said 300 Large, right now! Rod just laughed at him.
Dear Jose, Sorry, I just saw this note today (1Jan20). I used "buy out" music from Fresh Music in this piece. I suspect it is the last tune in this list: ComingDown_Full.aiff - Digital Juice - V40 - Alternative Stacks ChangingLanes_Full.aiff - Digital Juice - V04: Smooth Stacks BossaNight_Full.aiff - Digital Juice - V04: Smooth Stacks FlyingAway_Full.aiff - Digital Juice - V40 - Alternative Stacks Blue Skies & Tailwinds!™ Brian FitzGerald
Dear Phil, I'm Brian FitzGerald, the producer of "Decade of Thunder". Guy's interview is part of that movie. I spent a few minutes and looked in my archives to answer your question. The tune is called "Flying Away" and I bought it from Stack Traxx. It is on volume V40 which is called "Alternative Stacks". I'm glad you liked it. Here's another music video I produced that has one of my all time favorite tunes that you might like also. The piece is called "Look Up!" and so is the tune underneath it: th-cam.com/video/XVgpcN8THBw/w-d-xo.html Blue Skies & Tailwinds!™ Brian FitzGerald - Wichita
Wow! I Love Your Corvette! GUY CAR ALL THE WAY! I Miss My Yellow '68 T-Top Corvette, Mine Had The 427/390 And 4 Speed. There's Not A Lot Of Difference Inbetween The 427 And The 454 Except Maybe Torque And Peak Engine Speed. Good God, You Have 500 Ft/Lbs Of Torque! Wow! My Vette Was Good Too At 460 Ft/Lbs Of Torque. I Had To Let Mine Go Because I Simply Couldn't Afford It At The Time, 1984-1985. They Were Gonna Repossess It. You're Very Lucky To Have That GIRL In It With You. Even When I Had MY Big Block Corvette I STILL Couldn't Get Girls. And I STILL CAN'T Even To THIS DAY!!!

427s are interally balanced while the 454s are externally balanced which means they can have vibrations.
What is the gear ratio?
TIM, a 454 4-spd with A/C would have a mandatory 3.08 axle ratio.
Great Video,,Beautiful Car...Just Hate how they Turned the music up Just as he starts it up....
The 1971 corvette was the last corvette's to have 425 HP for the 1970s.
Corrrect, I own a 71 convertible, LS5, 454 365 HP, wish I had the LS6, very rare and very expensive, Less than 200 were made, 180 or so.
Jim Jones Don't Forget About The LS-7 454 In 1970! This Had 460 HP! YES FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY HORSEPOWER!!!!
Now the base corvette iis 460 HP , it amazing how times have changed.
The 1970 LS-7 never went into production.
LS 454 ENGINES HAD ALUM. INTAKE MANIFOLD AND HOLLEY CARB ALONG WITH SOLID LIFTER CAM BUD
