The Fed 4 in Moonstone scratches that non-Indy classic hat itch and of course the brown seems to be about as perfect a LC hat that one can get….except for your simply FANTASTIC Herbert Johnson! So jealous of you right now 😅 I hope you get a chance to get some Clipper and Crystal Skull gray train hats soon!
I just got in the mail my Akubra federation iv deluxe in the mail yesterday. Had them shape it like the last crusade. Quality and workmanship is over the top. They are tanks for sure.

Beautiful! I've seen a lot of Indy hat videos and no one seems to review the Adventurebuilt hat. They made the Crystal Skull hat if I remember right. Glad you got the O.G.!

Very nice Herbert Johnson crusader . Compared to the Tognarelli, and the Garrison the Herbert Johnson is spot on accurate. I've seen several variations in color and to my personal conviction it's definitely a deep Sable or chocolate color. I'm a hat maker myself and try to match to the best of my sources a screen accurate felt and color. Neat video
I’m asking for a Herbert Johnson Fedora for Christmas this year. Since I either want a Raiders or Cairo Poet. This Fedora looks pretty cool as well. Lol

@@farside51 Hebert Johnson's are more Bespoke hats and should be treated a bit more softly. Akrubras are tanks plain and simple due to having been built that way. If one got a HJ in Beaver felt (as opposed to the rabbit felt like mine) that might be a different story. But only slightly.
Hey Nathan is your HJ last crusade poet brim trimmed to the grail temple scenes or is it the standard brim width? I’m pretty sure that the Raiders poets and crusade poets are the same dimensions and made on the same blocks. The only difference is bash put into the hats at the end.
In the terms of price, yes the Christie's Adventure hat is cheaper. However, in all my experiences with Christie's hats, the cheaper price means cheaper quality. And in this video I'm not saying that one has to buy a Herbert Johnson in order to own the Indiana Jones hat, I am simply stating that if you've been thinking about it, and wish to buy from Herbert Johnson directly or second hand from another collector, which is usually the cheaper option, to go for it. They're also other makers out there who sell quality hats for under the price of Herbert Johnson. Advantage is one of the best options. Thomas's eye for not only quality but screen accuracy is almost unparalleled.

I've got a raiders style beaver AB by Steve Delk and its amazing in both durability and comfort. I'm waiting on my Hj and hope I like it as much.

Can the Herbert Johnson take a beating like the Akubra or does it have to be treated more careful?

My HJ is standard size in brim, I have just shaped the brim into the infamous "cowboy curl" which gives the appearance that it has been trimmed.
Herbert Johnson is now in 2023 what Penman and Adventurebuilt was in 2007
I would also add ADVintage Hats to that list, due to how accurate and affordable they are.
