Excellent video! I think Fi is one of the most misrepresented and, therefore, misunderstood functions. This video clears up many misconceptions.

What would some of these misconceptions be?

@@PowerRedBullTypology it was a while ago now, but I think I was reading various articles about the cognitive functions (in this case Fi) and they didn't seem to corroborate. The misconceptions were partly my own.

@@lulukrassova2196 cognitive functions ? i think you’re talking about mbti Fi , the video is about socionics Fi

@@emiil54 I don't really know anything about MBTI which uses type dichotomies not cognitive functions per se. My knowledge comes from variations of Jung (books like depth typology and psychological types). I know alittle about Socionics (they use different terms for the types and name them differently depending if the lead function is a perceiving or judging) but that is about it. Fi is my 7th function so I often misunderstand/misidentify it in general, but I liked the way this video explained it. Also Socionics derives from Jung and cognitive functions is a useful term considering the different systems, so it seems strange to make the distinction to me considering you understood what I meant.

I think Fe is sympathy and Fi empathy. Fe will hug someone and say the right things without knowing what is going on with a person. «It will get better» «It is all gonna be allright». Fi is not gonna do that until they «know» what that person is really going through and struggling with, and therefore be able to put themselves in the other persons shoes. And then they will be honest and not come with things only meant to make the person feel better in the moment.

This depends on how high the f functions are compared to the t functions,if the fe valuer values ti more, they will be more blunt and honest than someone who values fe more and they’ll look heartless in that moment when they just telling the truth. So for high ti valuers theyll be asking what’s wrong and give solutions. For fi I haven’t seen an fi user actually be able to help someone unless they went through the same thing. Also the fi valuer compared to the fe user won’t come off as fake and won’t actually hurt the persons feelings while giving advice unless they are high te valuers like LIE and ILI.The sad person won’t feel offended by the fi user because they coming off more authentic and they most likely are close already given that fi users help ppl they close with the most

    • @Luca_683

But yeah I agree fe is sympathy and fi is empathy I’m jus making the point that fe users also get deep into the details cuz they have ti so they naturally will want to problem solve (jus that unlike fi,the advice will be detached and more objective which will potential hurt the other person’s feelings) unless it’s unnecessary which is a more natural tendency for ti lead and creative. The reason why Fe is seen to be more empathetic is cuz fe users care more about how other ppl feel cuz that literally affects the social atmosphere so they have to care and also they are able to put themselves in the other person’s shoes without needing to have gone through the same emotions and experience unlike an fi user who needs these 2 to be able to relate and help,so Fi users being able to “put themselves in their shoes” is really just them being able to relate to what also happened to them

I’m constantly observing who likes who and who are drawn to one another. I say “are you guys friends now?” “Oh they are the hiking group” and my friends have such a warm connection with me as they are my emotional base when I need them so I am so sentimental with them. Here’s my judgment “what is wrong with this guy? This is what happens when we elect an actor for a leader! What do they know about what decisions are good for the world” 😂

I really appreciate the structure of your videos and the clarity you provide. The only thing I would add to help understanding Fi is that it makes judgments along a spectrum not strictly to come to black or white/good or bad conclusions.

Here’s where I disagree with you. Fi like myself feel a subjective empathy as I feel bad for someone however they are not objective empathy because if I see someone feeling sad and ask them if they are feeling bad the other person will sometimes say that they are not which will surprise me because I got it wrong

    • @fakedoorsfordinner1677
      @fakedoorsfordinner1677 ปีที่แล้ว

Sympathy and Empathy are outdated terms in typology.
Anyone can act it, not everyone can feel it.
Sympathy used to mean: showing others you care.
Empathy used to mean: Creating a level of mental understanding of the person.
To feel it, is to understand it from an essential level. Example: What is pain, what is empathy, what is love?
An Fi valuer will unironicly ask himself what it means every time it comes to contact with a relation.
An Fe valuer however will not look at the individual subjects/objects, and instead look at the emotional aura or the 'vibe'. An Fe-valuer is completly fine with you being sad, as long as you don't show it and ruin the sphere.
