Fabulous, Mastery and Insightful presentation on the Violin and its pride of place in every system of music by Sriram Parasuram! Very objective analysis of various aspects. I was glued to the computer screen throughout and feel highly enriched by the wide range of info! The sound of the violin stirs up emotions in the minds of the listener - thereby making it the most suitable vaadyam to bring out the "BHAVA" aspect of our music! [I must add though that the Gottuvadyam is one step tougher as it is played by plucking the strings (no bow) and its even more challenging to get a good sustain.] Many thanks for the Shyama Shastri GEM in Bhairavi - some musicians still think its only a Swarajathi - but some master musicians have told that it should be termed the Pancharatna kriti in Bhairavi!
he beautifully encapsulated the concept of progress.... the past masters are great, but we shouldn't negate the current artists' endeavours. stradivari violins were a step ahead of the previous generations. modern violins are not any way inferior to strads as numerous studies show! some of them are even better.
Gives lot of information about violin instrument, banis and important violin maestros. The lec dems of Sriram Parasuram are always enriching for the rasikas. Thanks for uploading.
Very good lecture demo. But this is a lecture demo only for the English speaking privileged class and not for all. At least, please speak in tamil in Tamil Nadu. I think it may be wise if u speak in English in other states of India or abroad. I don't think anglicizing Carnatic music is anyway not going to increase its standard in any way.
Fell off the chair laughing at "silaber paadina pesara madhiri irukkum" spoken like a Jokan
great lecure! thanks
