    Wow! I’ve seen a few videos on how a golf ball is made, but this one is just incredible! Iona has done it again-what a fantastic behind-the-scenes look at the best ball in golf. She managed to break through the very polite and corporate vibe of the Titleist team with her signature Scottish charm (and by cheekily swiping the divot repair tool 😜). It’s no wonder she’s so loved by everyone there!
    The Titleist ProV1 is definitely my ball of choice this season, and I’ll be keeping the Left Dash handy for those windy days. Thank you so much for this amazing video-it’s an absolute treat! I’m already counting down the days until your next one. Keep up the amazing work, Iona!

    Iona, this video was a joy to watch. Watching the process and all the discussion about sound, feel, and look of the ball. Loved the “green” machine. That was really interesting. Thank you for taking us along on your tour and play of the Titleist facilities.

    Thanks Iona! That has been one of the most fun and informative videos ever.
    Really enjoyed "going behind the curtain" and seeing the boffins playing with their toys and turning raw materials into balls with all sorts of different characteristics, feels and sounds.
    You really are so blessed to have these wonderful opportunities, but richly deserved and thanks for sharing the process with us.

    Great content again Iona, really enjoyed that found it very interesting. It must have been a great experience doing the tour and the ball testing for Titleist. I think Pro v1x would probably be the ball I would like too, just for the extra height you get but would definitely have to test them out to confirm that decision

    I don't know about other companies, but Titliest seems like the people really love what they're doing. And this impression goes all the way back to the 80's for me. In 1988, I was in the Coast Guard. My ships home port was New Bedford. I had suggested to our moral officer that they should contact Titleist about getting some equipment, direct from the factory. We thought they were going to just give us a deal on clubs. Instead, they gave us two sets of brand new clubs, and a couple of dozen white box balls. Everyone in this video took me right back to that day we picked up the clubs.

    Great content as usual Iona. It was very interesting to see all that goes in to improving what is after all an iconic product, and market leader. I think Titleist are lucky, or probably shrewd, to have you as an ambassador, as not everyone could make ball construction and testing interesting. If I could be so bold to say, there seems to have been a massive improvement in your putting posture since you went to the Scotty Putting Barn, probably exactly what Brad Faxon wanted to see. Thank you for increasing my knowledge.

    Recent WITB with some PGA tour players like Matt Fitz are using older versions of the x ball as they got used to the character of each model year. However they must test newer models. Without rule changes it would suggest the very best players in the world don’t see any major improvements year to year.

  • @paulmarjoram2258
    @paulmarjoram2258 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Great insight. Thanks Iona.
    I appreciate the effort that Titleist and others put in to advance the golf ball. However, I don’t feel that this continual development does the game’s green credentials any good. If you think about the amount of unsold balls, clubs etc. sitting in all the golf stores around the world and weight up the amount of material and plastic waste and carbon emissions from the manufacturing process.
    It angers me at times when I hear companies bragging about all they’re doing for the environment when, let’s face it, all they are really doing is continually drip feeding us the so-called ‘Next best thing’ in order to maintain or increase their profits.
    If they argue against this then please ask them why they feel they need to bring a new golf ball, golf club etc. every year or less.
    It’s an approach the world can’t sustain. A lot of people need to do a lot of soul searching.
