- Hello Nu Yawkers! Today is a special day! I've walked past the historic landmark Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on the Atlantic City Boardwalk hundreds of times but never stopped in ... today is the day! This huge venue has also been called the Convention Center or simply Boardwalk Hall. Boardwalk Hall was built in 1929 and has a rich history of hosting many concerts over the years as well as the Miss America Pageants and the 1964 Democratic National Convention, just to name a few events! Inside you'll find the huge arena that holds over 14000 people as well as a museum-like history exhibit of the Boardwalk Hall as well as Atlantic City in general. On top of all this, the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall is home to the world's largest musical instrument! Inside is a pipe organ that is the world's largest. You can hear the pipe organ daily every half hour during regular business hours, or simply watch the video to see and hear it! The best part of my visit today was everything is free! I've always walked past it when I'm on the Boardwalk. I didn't think you could go inside unless there was a show concert going on. Now, I'll have to check it out next summer.

The organ console in the lobby is a secondary (smaller) console for the big Midmer-Losh organ in the arena. There is a second organ (a Kimball) in the ballroom that is completely separate.

I have been to a few conventions there back in the late 80s. I have never walked the back side, very interesting to see from that side. Few years back i got to see all the Christmas trees on display, was so pretty to see in December. Clarice spotted at 5:03. Congratulations on 10k subscribers as well ❤!
It's a great place to stop into! By the way, you keep giving the wrong time stamps on the videos Kelly. The time stamps you're giving are when I talk about the mascots and what they look like. We have a condo in ac and go to see midmer-losh paly commonly it is a visceral and audio experience, every one should go to boardwalk hall and experience it's glory.

I feel guilty that in all my years going to AC I never went inside Boardwalk Hall. Thanks to you I will. My favorite monopoly piece was the thimble 😅. And I insisted on being the banker. My favorite property was Park Place lol. I remember the camp counselor in Friday the 13th horror movie played strip monopoly..sounds like fun. Great video Jeff

Adrian, if you're ever on the boardwalk and walk by, just pull the door and see if it opens. I did and, I got in. I just walked in. There was some practice for, I don't know what they were, looked like go-carts. I think they have daily organ recitals.

I watched the Albany Devils play there (and lose :( ...thanks Kinkaid) inside Boardwalk Hall a few years ago when the prior New Jersey Devils ownership wanted to have one or two home games of their AHL team inside New Jersey. I miss going there, it was the only time I could see prospective NJ Devils players at glass level.

@@imboredDB Sometimes if you ask permission, the person you ask will, more often than not, say 'no' not knowing what the laws are. It's easier, if you don't have an evil intent, to just start filming and if someone says something you just apologize. Here in Nu Yawk, after 9/11, there was a big list of things you weren't allowed to take pictures of, from bridges to the Empire State Building. If you ask a police officer today can you take a picture of the Empire State Building, they'll probably say 'no' even though there'll be 50 other people standing on the sidewalk doing that.
Exactly Richard. I'm pretty discrete and know when it's improper or most likely not allowed (children, casino tables, casino cages). These day's everyone is taking video and selfies out in public and most establishments are fine with it. @@richardhales92
