Whenever I’m facing an issue, I ask myself “How would our Prophet (pbuh) have handled it?” He would have handled it with compassion, mercy, and intelligence. These are the characteristics I saw in these speakers and in their thoughts. Thank you for you insights and handling this issue the way out Prophet (pbuh) would have handled it. May Allah bless all of you.

"The biggest enemy of Islam is the ignorant muslim, whose ignorance leads him to intolerance, whose actions destroy the true image of Islam, and when the people look at him they think Islam is what he is."

part of the test for the knowledgeable to be Grateful for their knowledge and tolerate n correct the behaviour n actions of the ignorant ones...with wisdom n knowledge.
end of the day...Allah could've created as all equally...but then...where is the test in that? it isn't just the ignorant Muslims...but Ignorant people who practise hateful acts are a test

No one is exempt from being called out on misdeeds! Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever among you sees evil, let him change it with his hand. If he is unable to do so, then with his tongue. If he is unable to do so, then with his heart, and that is the weakest level of faith.”

I have seen those topics criticizing yaqeen institute. And even from respect figures from our ummah. But worst thing about that was the fact that a lot of things that i would normally didn’t seem to even notice or thought about was exposed to me and talking from those respected figures.
I felt so bad about the fact that yaqeem institute was talked about in a way that was doubtful, because yaqeen taught me so much about the deen and made me so inlove with the deen of Allah.
How is it so that we Muslims search from each other’s shortcomings to eventually point it out to other Muslim.
That will divide us and confuse us about what is wrong and what is right, wrong and who to listen and who not…
We Muslim should have each other back and assume the best from each other’s and stay trong together, so that we can diliver this beautiful deen in a beautiful manner to non Muslims..
If all i am doing is being busy with other people shortcomings, then I automatically assuming, that i am beter or know better..
(53:32) Very well is He aware of you since He produced you from the earth, and while you were still in your mothers' wombs and not yet born. So do not boastfully claim yourselves to be purified. He fully knows those that are truly Godfearing.

    Sis Sarah!!!!!!
I love the way you stated: that whatever you are struggling with shouldnt define you or allow you to become your identifier. As our CORE code should be to get the pleasure of our Creator, just like in an abusive marriage we identify our struggle as "domestic violence" but our label isnt the "abused" its the SURVIVOR OF DV; or when we sin we dont carry the label of the "sinner" we claim to be REPENTERS and the same with this same-sex attraction struggle ...its great that we have identified it and own to the struggle but its returning to our core belief of pleasing the CREATOR that makes us SURVIVORS from it, not identifiers of it. Christian belief says that we are all sinners and we must identify as that and accept that label but in Islam, I feel that we are told that the original sin which Adam and Eve allowed themselves to follow the whispering of Saten lead them out of paradise hence we are placed upon the EARTH to struggle with all types of temptation and whosoever acknowledges their Core seeking the pleasure of the One Creator Allah then he/she has earned or returned to Paradise. We are repenters of sin and survivors because in overcoming any type of struggle there is a form of triumph at the end which leads the human to be empowered therefore by abstaining and not submitting to desires that are unpleasing to Allah we are elevated in the eyes of our CREATOR our submission is only to Allah/God alone. That is the test we need to realize and fully comprehend. In Peace

Alhamdulillah Omar, I've always tried hard to listen to Islamic lectures to improve myself and because i really love and value Islam. When I came across your videos and lectures about 4 years ago i couldn't stop listening. I believe that Allah has gifted different people with different things. But i have never come across any scholar that really makes me feel so spiritually uplifted with Allah's permission. When this LGBT scandal started I just ignored it because I thought that people always try to degrade good people, especially when they are islamic scholars. Only recently i was convinced to look at the videos and to become aware that some things that happened goes against the basic fundamentals of Islam. I prayed to Allah that you would come out and speak confidently about how Islam cannot change for things like lgbt. And about the basic fundamentals of Islam. I prayed to Allah that he Allows you to make it clear to everyone that you do not stand with such courses or anything that goes against the fundamentals of Islam. Because people make mistakes and if you're a popular islamic scholar then people want to use you and put your mistakes everywhere on the internet. May Allah guide us. I would like if you could give the next Jumuah khutba about Tawheed

Maa Shaa Allah. May Allah reward you all for this amazing, insightful conversation. I feel like a lot of people/Muslims are scared and avoiding to have these kinds of conversations due to various reasons, yet having them is more helpful and can make most of us learn from different perspectives while always ensuring to go with what Islam teaches us ("Submission to Allah") and at any cost turn against that.

Jazakumullahu khairan! It is so empowering to listen to Islam's view so clearly and compassionately put out there! And have our conviction renewed amidst the ambiguity all around and be confident in having these difficult conversations. I love the hadith of Islam starting out as strange and returning to becoming something strange. The idea that the alienation we feel as Muslims sometimes is actually a fulfillment of a prophecy has its own comfort somehow. May Allah bless you all!

It is an excellent step in the right direction to address this unmatched challenge in our modern time remembering:
1-Islam is the last corner stone to stand firm against this issue otherwise all the humanity will face a serious consequence and punishment from Allah SWT and we Muslims will be the first one if we don’t hold our religion right and firmly whatever the challenges are.
2-we need to establish an urgent department in our Muslim institutions and universities to deal with this issue as well as many other issues such as cloning and others and to open the door for all to share in this project without exclusion of anybody whatsoever.
3-this issue has to be addressed at political level, individual and community levels, at educational system level, and at all levels establishing health care institutions to treat people from this issue with proper religious counseling
4-the message to Muslim community from all imams has to be clear, steady and one message that matches with their actions as imams and our religious teachings so it can resonate well with Muslims especially our Muslim youth.
5- once we adhere to our faith and our Islamic orders regardless of any dangerous consequences that maybe we face, Allah SWT will help and all people who share with us the same values will gather behind and with us to counteract this insane movement in every where .
6- just for clarification for what Lut said to his people in the Quran:
إنكم لتاتون الرجال شهوه من دون النساء
It isn’t; you desire men instead of women but you come to engage with men desirely instead of women( desire and action both together)
    JAK all

Excellent conversation and very relevant! Agree with the Sheikh from CA that these types of conversations need to start way ahead before they reach a critical juncture like today. I am not sure when our masjid uncle communities will step out of their cultures to embrace the fact that they don’t live in their countries anymore. Allah knows us better than we know ourselves. I was reading Surah Nahl last night and came across ayah 90 which talks about enjoining justice and good behavior and follows it with forbidding shameful acts, evil deeds and oppression. The Quran is exemplary in knowing exactly how the human mind thinks. Allah’s words never seize to amaze me! May Allah swt help and guide our brothers and sisters who are struggling to overcome their sexual gratification challenges. It is a very tough test for them.

Alhamdulillah these local scholars/professors addressed the need of stating the Islamic position on alternative sexual lifestyles. This is a short overview of the talk.
Brother Omar Suleiman stated 10 rulings/Hukum in islam concerning sex and sexuality. His statement should also be used to refute the deviant behavior of so called concerned muslims who try to distort Brother Suleiman’s position on the LGBQT. He makes it clear that it is Haraam and he does not support this movement.
Brother Ubaydallah Evans presented the Hadith which states this religion started out as strange and in the latter days it will return as being considered strange. He also said as an indigenous muslim convert that when he was a Christian he did not believe he had to compromise his position on Homosexuality so he definitely didn’t have to compromise as a Muslim,
Brother Mustafa Umar reminded us that the muslim leadership has to be ahead of the storms that were are experiencing in our society by speaking on the rain clouds that have not arrived above us as of yet. He stated he addressed the LGBTQ issues over 10 years ago. He presents the clear proofs from the Quran that the narration of Prophet Lut was clearly saying Homosexual activity is Forbidden/Haraam. He also referenced a podcast to help people that are struggling with these sexual urges A Way Beyond the Rainbow (buzzsprout.com)
Sister Sarah Sultan emphasized that as muslims we need to accept the fact that we are strangers in this society and have to be comfortable with holding on to the standards that Allah has prescribed. She reminded that Allah has said that we must enter into Islam whole heartly and Do not follow the footsteps of the shaytan.

A certain word has been constantly resonating with me lately regarding everything I am seeing in the world today, from oppression, persecution and degradation of a cross section of the Ummah, LGBTQ and other non-conforming social issues, to the constant attack on the very essence of this most beautiful Deen... "THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAIL"... This has never rung more true to me than at this moment! Islam is absolute truth, so much so that the shaytan is fighting furiously through his minions (mankind & jinn alike) to keep this truth from growing farther than it already has and still is... Understanding this helps me be a lot more tolerant with the people, not that we should stand for oppression in any form! I am reminded in this moment of Q2v113: The Jews say "the Christians have nothing true to stand on", and the Christians say "the Jews have nothing true to stand on", even though they read from the same scriptures" (translation of the meaning)..... Thank you so very much (Jazakum'llah Khairan) all of you noble panel for tackling this topic so effectively. We all as Muslims should feel very elated that we are blessed to be integral parts of this profound truth that is Islam... Alhamdulillah Rabbil Aa'lameen 🤲🏽🌹

Jazakoum lahou khayran for addressing such a topic that a lot of our islamic leaders avoid, but we as young muslims young parents and as representatives of Islam in the west, we were in desperate need of lights to be shaded over such a sensitive world subject, in order to stay firm and act upon our convictions but still not be dehumanising the ones struggling or following their blind desires.
May Allah forgive us if we ever confused between hatred towards the sin and the ones who struggling with it that are in desperate need of guidance, if we shot the doors of Rahma in their faces as muslims in what direction will they head??!
The story of that lesbian girl who converted to Islam and give it all up for Allah swt completely shifted the I was seeing the subject in term of individuals and how to deal with them and never giving up on someone as long as Allah swt has the doors of Tawbah and repentance open for everybody and anybody.
One sentence of sister Sarah really made me cry, we do not identify ourselves according to our struggles but rather trough our survival trough them, a sinner struggling with his sin is not called a sinner but a repenter ❤️
Bottom line being uncompromising but compassionate, the second part was completely out of my sight !

This made me think about marriage. The respectable sheikh in the usuli institute had some ideias on it but no fiqh. The main point is like emotional support, or the whole support one gets in a household environment. Made me wonder if somekind of affection like kissing cuddling etc... should be considered grave or light. This is really an issue of our times and we are the lighthouse. Stay blessed.

    Hey dudes,
You're seeing an ailment without talking about the cause. When you surround yourself in a certain environment with certain media and friends you will naturally absorb those things regardless of your faith. Yes you can say it's haram and sinful and to not make it okay but if that's all you're saying you're just telling people to indulge and you'll be alright if you don't consider it helal. Why even bring up the prospect of revision especially for such a topic? Stigmatizing degeneracy is actually healthy. Our mentality should be that we're repulsed by these things.
Brute forcing iman or the "struggle" is one thing, but what's better is not requiring yourself to have that struggle in the first place. It's up to us to police our thoughts, our media consumption, and who we hang around. I grew up in the early days of the internet without any Islamic background or parental supervision and could have easily become a degenerate but I decided to police myself as early as 10 years old due to how disgusting some of things I saw were. You surround yourself with filth you're going to be filthy. You watch filth your mind will become filthy.
I've never tried drugs and I'm sure I'd love them if I ever indulged. Don't develop the taste for something by just preventing yourself from doing it in the first place. I don't see this message being brought up at all. Just straight up don't open the doors. When my children go older, I will completely forbid social media such as TikTok and ensure they have other outlets to spend their time more productively. These degenerate acts are a slippery slope that starts with allowing your mind to engage in these thoughts. Don't escalate those into actions which will breed further issues for you to deal with.
Do not surround yourself with these people, ally with them, watch their media. Grow a backbone and stand up for your beliefs. Don't associate with people who will bring you down. Any compassion you have will be gone once you're standing in front of Allah on the day of judgement.

Alhamdulillah, my prayers and of so many people has been answered 🤲🏼♥️. It hurts me so much seeing the bashing of our own ummah towards Imam Omar and Yaqeen institute. Saying Yaqeen institute sellout Islam, don’t watch their content or Imam Omar participated in a pagan ritual. Like cmon Imam Omar even said he did know pouring water on the ground was a pagan ritual. I dont even know that as well. What hurts me even more people commenting in agreeing without hearing his side. Even though a video by towards eternity. He cleared the scandal by saying. “What is Haram is Haram and I cannot say what Haram is permissible”. He went to that event at the boarder of America and Mexico to voice out his protest against keeping childrens of immigrants in a cage. Which is very inhumane. I found that only Muhammad Hijab said we shouldn’t tear another muslim or islamic institutions down because that will make the enemy of islam happy. I think the ability to hear to both side is important as well and for Yaqeen institute to clear this scandal out. khalas. I do believe the more piety a person has towards Allah. Allah will test the person more and that includes fitnah. And we know everyone including me will get our fitnah moment. And our ability to say “Hasbunallah wa ni’mal wakeel” the one how taught me that is none other than Imam Omar Suleiman. Alhamdulillah ♥️🤲🏼 Thankyou for your content. I never feel so closer and continue to be curious towards our deen. May Allah blessed Yaqeen Institute even more after this

Asalamalaykum. There is a difference between hating a group and not accepting morally what they stand for. You do not have to hate any group, in fact as a Muslim you shouldn’t. (You can hate a sin or an act but you never hate a person). You do not have a right to bring any harm to anyone. Even if their is an Islamic law against something that still isn’t in your hands that is in the hands of the court, under actual procedures which follow certain guidelines.
All that being said to be firm on your principles and say my religion, the God that I believe is the true creator of everything that exists has said this act is morally unacceptable. There is nothing wrong with that. Everyone has principles they are firm on - Muslim or not.

Salamu aleikum. My opinion is that this issue is simple. There is no pride in fahisha, the only pride their is is being a slave of Allah(A.J). There is no need to support the rights of someone to do this. The example of mohammed(pbuh) is clear. He let such sort come into his house because he was a good man. Once they failed to meet the required education he imposed his justice upon them. Be nice, but there is a limit to it.

What happens when someone has already taken action to “transition” to opposite sex? I have encountered for the first time someone like this in real life. They seem a good person and a hard worker and through our jobs, we are both engineers, I have gotten to know them. I worry about developing relationships with people like this because I have a young child and it matters to me not to set a bad example to my child in any way and in any part of my life. How do we treat these encounters? I want to be respectful to them and abide by our values.

You treat them the way the Prophet treated all non-Muslims. With respect, but also with an understanding that you disagree with their beliefs.
Yes the topic is LGBTQ, but at the end of the day whether it's same gender relations and male/female relations outside of a nikah is haram. Those people--Muslim or not--still deserve respect at the end of the day. I would keep my children away from such individuals despite me respecting them as a person.

    • @omarmoustafa8634
      @omarmoustafa8634 2 ปีที่แล้ว +31

When you say they are good people but they are members of the LGBT community, you are making the assumption that changing your gender identity isn't "bad" and that they are good people. Perfection is for Allah and no human is or was infallible except for prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). When deciding whether you should keep friendship with your transexual friend, one should think about it like any friendship. If you have an atheist friend that may lead you to doubt your religion, that friendship should not be maintained because it would be a bad influence to you even if he is a "good" friend. Honestly, I don't think having a transexual friend is a good idea because it would be really difficult to separate his ideology from causing any doubts especially to your child. May Allah protect us all from facing any doubts in Islam. One should not assume themselves to be immune to doubts. You can keep good terms with that transexual friend but don't get close to him/her and try to distant yourself. That's my opinion.

I lost about a years worth of dawah just because of the slanders of some of our fellow brother in islam against Yaqeen. until just before Ramadhaan this year, when I happened to watch them slander a Pic that they used to misinterpret Sh Omar S. it was a Pic I had seen whilst I was still following and I knew the background was in regards to the treatment of ferigners while Trump was still doing his thing, the content creator made it out to be something else where it appeared that Dh was condoning same sex actions. that was when I realized that people aren't looking for truth, some humans in this world only want to spread pain. or they're misguided and in their mistaken understanding get so furious for what they perceive the threat may be in the deen that they become blinded by anger in their efforts to defame people that are really doing the work to get the masses out of a pit of despair and onto a path of submission to Allah. luckily for me I got to experience the Judgment day series, but who knows what my spiritual health would have looked like if I didn't unfolow for a long while. I've learnt that it's important to fi d the truth for yourself always, don't follow blindly. funny how it's the second time I'm learning to not follow blindly, because I'm a revert.
I'm just glad that I can benefit from the gems of Yaqeen institute once again and Sheikh Omar Sulaiman. Allahu Akbar. May Allah forgive the slanderers and may they become known as repenters instead. May Allah unite the ummah, we all are so different but when so many are being oppressed and killed all around the world, one has to havesomesoftspot for the entire ummah at large even when some are ignorant and hurt one another inso many different ways e it through rasicm or slander. May we all wake up and repent

This was something, that definitely needed to be discussed and shared, with those who have either, young grandkids or their own adult children, those who have been under such temptations from the Shaitan … and the environment, they are living in.
Surah tun Naas clearly explains where such temptations or whispers come from:
    1: heart 2: people 3: Jinn/ Shaitan
Now why should anyone, especially the knowledgeable & practicing Muslims feel empathy, compassion or pity for such grown up adults, who feel they are suffering from such temptations, despite their level of commitment or piety? And especially more so, when all kinds of topics & such issues, have already been addressed in the Quran & Sunnah by Allah swt?
I’d like to remind ourselves here with an important Hadith : We hate & love for Allah. So why not clearly condemn such behavior? Why mingle or be friends with such people ?
Conveying the message of Islam is fine but encouraging people to be compassionate and being tolerant towards them is not what I understand from what I have read.
Allah has created Man & woman to be joined together as mates & if any other thing is associated or brought in for any society, to become acceptable, then they have truly gone astray, given up their strive to please no other but the people around them , their hearts & the Satanic ways, which have polluted, surrounded & confused them to accept their whims & desires & forget their Lord ,”Allah” swt.
Be straight & business like when it comes to addressing such mindset.
Don’t be a people pleaser. Tell them that such acts are considered abhorrent in Islam.
Don’t make friends with such who will make you accept their ways.
    Condemn them!
When it comes to friendship with the same sex, follow the rulings from Quran & Sunnah and recognize the whispers that comes from Satan .
Always maintain boundaries & limits that are halal / permissible in Islam .
Place Allah swt on the top of your list of commitment of Belief and work only to please Him .
He is our only true friend and Protector. Follow His way only! 👍🏻

Ilhamdullah الحمد لله I'm very happy you're back Omar Suleiman. As an online Daii داعي I know how toxic the online dawah scene can be sadly due to a specific group of ignorant Muslims. I too have been attacked by them. It's very disappointing to see Muslims attacking other Muslims calling to Sunnat Muhammad especially when Islam is under attack from ALL SIDES. It really makes you question their priorities to be attacking a Muslim rather than defending our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH and religion. You've done so much for the Ummah.

How does Islam view the situation where even before sorting out their urges many Muslims who are attracted to same-sex end up getting married due to the social pressure and yet continue acting upon their desires of same-sex? Is it permissible to delay marriage in this case or wait for a miracle that getting married to a girl will "fix" all this? Or not marry at all as long as they are struggling with this? It seems very unfair towards to the woman .

S.A. BarakAllahu-Feekum for sharing the Islamic view on the topic incl. experiences you had with people struggling with same-sex orientation/thoughts. I also loved the solution oriented advices.
Sadly there are some videos out there from so called seikhs speaking ill about Yaqeen and attacking them incl. Br. Omar personally based on the LGBT issue.
Those who are sharing these "concerns"/accusations based on false or patchy information are not only going agains the etiquette of interaction between fellow beings but are also falling into the trap of backbiting, which definetely will be a major issue on the day of judgment for them.
These thoughtless words / videos will neither benefit themselfes nor the ummah.

The reality is you cannot live in a bubble. It's important information that children need to learn to function and be contributing members of today's society. What will happen when children grow up and have to work for someone who chooses to be identified by gender neutral pronouns?

Well first off yes I do believe it's wrong for teachers to be talking about their partners/orientation/lifestyle etc in classes. The relationship between teachers and students is not an equal one, students shouldn't be forced to listen to teachers on things outside the relevance of school. As for saluting the flag, idk if that happens . At minimum there is plenty of examples shown on the internet of teachers having pride flags in the classroom, reading children's books with homosexual characters, making moral judgments in support of lgbt issues, playing games which are designed to influence young children's opinions on the issue in favour of it. Often times this happens without the permission of the parents or even notification that they'll be doing it. We've seen other cases where teachers in the uk have used prevent and the Trojan horse scandal as tactics against students. It's one thing to be against bullying, it's another to push ideology on children
