OMG Rory such a childish behavior, Jess and Emily are trying their best to have a pleasant conversation and as you can tell is very difficult for both of them because is obvious there not too fond of each other but at least they’re trying to get through this dinner as politely they possibly can for Rory’s sake because they care for her but she’s being so incredibly stupid. Wow no boundaries whatsoever Jess said he didn’t want to talk about it and yet she kept bugging him in front of her of grandma. Very rude and very disrespectful to both Emily and Jess no respect at all😡
I feel robbed of the interaction Jess and Emily would have had if he’d admitted to having been beaked by a swan 😅

Damn. This is the most civil and unpretentious Mann I’ve seen Emily conduct herself with someone she would usually deem beneath her.
It always pissed me off that he wouldn't just tell Rory what really happened to his eye when he got there. But it was also rude of Rory to keep bringing it up at the table when everything seemed to be going ok.
He didn't tell her cuz he knew she wouldn't believe him
I mean he was embarrassed by the fact that he got hit in the face by a swan. From his perspective I can see why he didn't really wanna talk about it, a fact which he was very up front about. He was also up front about the fact that he was in a bad mood and didn't really wanna be there but he was still making the effort to be polite to Emily and get through dinner without any drama. Rory really should've just let the subject drop
Honestly as much of a snot as early show Jess can be, I'm with him in this situation. Imagine getting dragged to a dinner you don't wanna go to by your girlfriend and getting stuck in traffic on the way there and when you arrive despite your best efforts to be civil to her grandmother and make a good impression all your girlfriend wants to do is harp on about a black eye you got from something embarrassing you don't feel like talking about at the moment and going so far as to accuse you pf getting into a fight with her ex
I feel like Rory could’ve wait till after dinner and talk to him because the way she handled was terrible. Jess clearly said he was tired and hungry, but she never listen. I get that she was frustrated about the black eye but she could’ve wait till later. I think she made him feel uncomfortable after dinner.
So Rory was also a jerk sometimes 😊
