Hello Rebecca, your videos have my interest in making greeting cards. Where do you buy stencils and dies. Where do you suggest I start looking that’s economical. thank you.

I love your stuff! I so want to try out card making and paper crafts in general but it seems so pricey to start! What do you recommend for a beginner that won’t break the bank but I can get a lot of use out of?
I was in your place two years ago when I decided to get into card making after having watched videos for a decade. I decided to start with die cutting. Some simple shapes and some statement layering flower dies kept me entertained and inspired for a year. Investing in an alphabet die set enabled me to create a card for every occasion and with names. Eventually I got some ink pads and a cheap set of blending tools and now my die cuts look even more beautiful.
I don't feel like I'm being held back by my budget at all because when you start out it's all so exciting and possibilities seem endless even if you just have a couple of things to play with. But I think it's best to start with one thing and then see where it takes you, what you want to add etc rather than buying a little bit of everything.

You definitely don't need EVERYTHING to start! Decide what technique looks most interesting to you. Diecutting? Stamping? Watercolor? There are so many options! If you're not sure maybe try a stamp set and some cardstock and see how it goes. Warning lol, it is addicting and you may want to buy EVERYTHING, but you definitely don't NEED everything!
Thanks!! Die cutting is what really looks interesting to me, I love paper art that uses layering! So maybe that and a few stamps are a good place to start.
You spelled "dyes" incorrectly
Dies are actually metal plates that cut paper, not dyes for color.
