First of all, Z1000 was discontinued long back. And DV bought a used Z1000. Probably for a good price (Disclosed by him). Z1000's engine is same as Ninja1000 but Z1000 is kinda naked version (character) of Zx10r. But Zx10r is a SuperSports, it's locked at 299kmph and as Z1000 is a SuperNaked, it's locked at around 260kmph (approx).
ZX10-R is a litre class Supersport .. obviously it would have a better top speed (Z1000 does well past 265+). ZX10-R is hell uncomfortable ... that's one of the reasons why DV sold his Daytona too.
