    I love Erica. Smh... my own agent hasn't even heard of her but I got to audition for her twice 📷😀. She's consistent and informative. And not to mention Kurt you deserve a plaque with your name on the thespians Hall of Awesome. Thank you, hope to see you on set one day 🎬🎥🎞.

    Erica is so smart, really illuminating listening to her, not just about the casting process but about how to think in general. It would be such an honor to audition for her, not even to get a callback or anything.

    Erica's passion and joy is absolutely contagious. Her story of weeping with gratitude at age 19, when she got her start as a casting director assistant brought back memories. I felt the same way when I was interviewed by Anna Strasberg (Lee's wife), and she accepted me into the Lee Strasberg Institute. My heart was and still is on fire for performing, particularly film acting, well, stand up comedy runs a close second.

    Yet another great video! At 18:04, she mentions "Break it Down" being the industry standard. What is that?

    • @ActingCareerCenter
      @ActingCareerCenter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She's talking about Breakdown Services, which is the company that owns Actors Access. The difference is that when an audition goes to Breakdown Services, it only goes to agents and managers. And those agents and managers then submit the actors they represent for those roles. When an audition goes to Actors Access, that means it is posted publicly for anyone who has a personal Actors Access account can submit. The vast majority of auditions for major movies and tv shows will go to Breakdown Services and will NOT be posted publicly on Actors Access. Typically, it's only when a production is having trouble finding the right actor for a role do they release the audition to Actors Access and take submissions from the public.

    Hey Kurt! Been watching your videos for a little while now thank you for the great content. I’ve been thinking about moving to Atlanta but also stay in my city can I do that? I fly for free because my mom works for an airline and I know in your video you said it’s not smart for financial reasons but if I fly for free is that a good way to go?

    • @ActingCareerCenter
      @ActingCareerCenter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my opinion, it's better to be 100% committed to the move by living in Atlanta and not splitting time with another city. There are going to be last minute auditions and schedule changes that will make it challenging for anyone who doesn't live within driving distance.

    Kurt I have a question. I live in Los Angeles and I’m a junior in high school rn (17 yrs old). I want to be a film and television actor but I don’t know if I should take local acting classes here or if I should go to a college and major in theatre. What’s your take on this?

      Hey there Brent, I’m in Jr High and I’m going for Film & TV acting also but we have to start small with commercial acting since it’s like a small sample for the long term. I’m in the Inland Empire and I’m taking acting classes this summer with my parents permission. Ask your parents to get you on board with acting recruitment classes especially here in SoCal, Don’t wait until you’re in college!!

    • @brentmay8680
      @brentmay8680 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ReaganVFilms so you’re suggesting I ask my parents to take acting classes this summer?

    • @ReaganVFilms
      @ReaganVFilms 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brentmay8680 Yep! Because we’re around the time of recruitment at the month of July, some private acting classes around here may start in June. Since after all the acting classes for at least 1 month we suppose to get our Entertainers Worker Permit (not required if above 18) for SoCal and towards auditioning for a talent agency or manager such as Coast to Coast Talent, Osbrink Agency, and etc to get into the film/tv sector.
      Just know that any auditions that ask you to pay is a scam, all auditions are free no matter what! Acting classes in SoCal should cost less than $2,000 unless if you’re going beyond 1 month or are adding something like Modeling or singing.

    Can we act in movies/TV series if we have permanent residence?

    is it possible for a person to work in hollywood,if she/he isn't from the usa!! or do not have us citizenship???🙁

    • @ActingCareerCenter
      @ActingCareerCenter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If by Hollywood you mean America, then you would most likely need to live here and either have a green card (permanent residency) or a work visa (O-1 Visa) before you are allowed to audition for any projects that pay money. But understand that the term "Hollywood" represents an entire industry, not just movies made in America. For example, a lot of the Star Wars movies are made in the UK.

      I think you can but you would not have many opportunities as if you lived in LA or Atlanta. So if you have the money you can move there or maybe try to be in some small indie films first before just straight up moving with no experience on set.
