i dont care how cheesy this movie is its a part of my childhood life and when i was a kid watching it man my brother and i were at awe, he man kicks ass i cant wait for the new movie
I was born in 89 I grew up watching this movie in the 90's wearing tights whiteys, wearing my moms boots, and a blanket around my neck as a cape.... my older brother, and I obsessed over this film.... IDGAF what people say.... this movie is magical, and heart warming.... the ending is phenomenal.... and skeletor is arguably one of the best on film villains of all time in my book.

He still needs to see He-man humbled before he can truly feel like he's number 1, even though he's ascended above their rivalry in his heart he knows he's still 2nd best Master on the Universe, so he brings his Godhood down to that level. There's a message in that ;)

This isn't Snake Mountain this is Castle Grayskull. The movie is clearly based on the original concept of Masters Of The Universe, before DC and Filmation He-Man was depicted as being a hero full time. Therefore King Randor is just a side character not important as in the animated series. And even if I like the Filmation series the fact that they erased the cringy side of He-Man (Adam, Orko and Cringer) made this movie even better for me!

Growing Up in the 80s watching this and hearing He-Man say "I have the Power" was every kids dream in a live action Movie!!! DOLPH was a perfect He-Man!!!!! Nobody can do it in this day like he did not even Chris Hemsworth even tho he's the only one who would now a days but it would just be Thor in Eternia!
It's amazing how much the ending mirrors star wars. Sword battle in a throne room followed by the bad guy in a cloak getting thrown down a massive pit.
I remember recording this on fox 26 in 88 I believe for my older brother, the He-Man fan. The point is that this movie reigns supreme, for me. I don't know much about MOTU, except for some of the cartoon episodes I watched as a kid. Plus this movie introduced me to Meg Foster😍, Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella.

Ya know, I understand it's cheesy, because of the genre/time period etc.. But how's it worse than any other movie of it's kind? Considering the circumstances, I still think this movie turned out incredibly well! Langella's performance was stellar, the supporting actors were solid, and the score was incredible. Goddard's direction of the film, was in my opinion, impressive. Obviously the budget was relatively minimal, which is probably why most of it was shot on "Earth". Overall, a fun movie
There are plenty of plot holes here. Even in the conclusion Lubic decides to stay in Eternia he was promoted to king? for what exactly? Where did that woman come from who is now his wife? I guess budget didn't allow them to fill in those blanks. That being said I love He Man and now mt daughter is enjoying this. But I get bothered a bit by the obvious stuff Mattel had a goldmine of a universe but kept just flipping stuff to go with the latest fad. She Ra was all about Robots in order to adapt to Star Wars and Transformers here the enemies are basically black storm troopers.

Meg Foster and Frank Langella are the MVP's of this movie. They REALLY went for it to great effect.

skeletors speech is really quite remarkable.
Even with all those fancy laser guns and shiny armour, nothing kicks ass quite like a good gun.
