I just this morning remembered that I used to have one of these as a kid. It wasn't until you started playing and I heard the *sounds* that the nostalgia kicked my head straight off. Zounds!
It's 5:30 am, I can't sleep so I'm laying in bed playing this game. I had one when I was young in the 80's and loved but it broke. So I finally found one for sale a few years ago. Excellent condition and in the original box with instructions and even the plastic bag the was in when packed. It's still insanely fun and addictive. Unfortunately now I'm much older and it seems my reaction time has suffered lol. I'm getting my butt kicked. So far my high score is a shade under 10,000 on skill level 1 @ the slowest speed. I don't play it often since I'm now terrible at it and I bought it mostly for sentimental and investment reasons but I'm gonna break that 10000 points or my hands are going to cramp me into submission, one or the other. These are extremely hard to find in good condition, let alone excellent condition. If you like these vintage hand held games you'll love this one so buy one if you find one.
had one. loved it. Yes, it's very difficult to rescue a colonist as they fall. It's even a bit tricky to do on the real game. I used to up the speed just to make it play more smoothly, but then I wouldn't last long of course. Thanks for the video.
I got the Entex Stargate game for Christmas back when I was in 8th grade and my best friend got Defender at the same time. This game was far better than mine. I was jealous!! Lol
I spent far too much time playing this back in the day. Don't think I ever upped the game speed, but I remember letting a lot of the early level aliens capture the humans so I could get more points from rescuing them and returning them. Still remember those tunes so well!
Loved the arcade version, my lad downloaded the arcade version on my phone the game play as spot on but I wish I could get the original controls with the lever knob I have muscle memory of the old game

Still have this gem...though the plastic cover has a small crack in it...luckily the batteries weren’t in there...in storage for 25 years... .... .... (Rummaging) .... .... Yep...still works!
I have this in its original box and plastic cover with the white polystyrene its in mint condition and only used with a power cable would anyone know how much its worth?
For an early 80's handheld this is quite amazing, far better than any tiger electronic or game & watch for sure.
I can see now why it's so addictive for Groot.. Haha

The game also has the capability to play right-to-left if you hit the reverse button. That’s sometimes a better option than hyperspace.
