Made that teardown look easy. Had a 79 Mk1, loved it. Remember the clutch cable pulling through the bulk head and having to shift with no clutch for 20 miles… and the electronic boards ( think they were mounted in the passenger footwell) welding together from heat whilst travelling in the outside lane of the M1 - caused my car alarm to kick in and cut the engine 😬
Looking forward to this restoration. Be following this for sure as I’m half way through my Mk 1 rebuild. Shell looks pretty good. Let’s see after the blast. 🤞🏻
Mk1s are becoming an only seen at shows car these days. Great to see one getting the full teardown. Eye spy a sea foam green PS13 lurking, is there a vid of that to come?
Yeah you’re right, tbf you see fewer and fewer classic cars just milling about these days in general!! The s13 was in to repair some damage but I didn’t bother with a video unfortunately! Maybe I should do some more videos on random stuff we have in
@@classiccarrevivalsofficial It’s just nice to any old throwback from 80s onwards, when most of us watching this would have been looking at some of these going by and wishing… Personally I’m a huge Nissan fan and currently have an S13 shell tucked away to restore. But even when they were plenty, the PS was a rarity over here.
Seeing anything up to early 90s now is a bonus!! I wanted an xr2i when I was younger 😂 When this s13 came in a couple of years back it had the rear arched cut out and was made into a shonky, homemade drift car. When it came to us we used body cuts to put it back to standard and painted it in this factory colour combo. Pretty cool ride now
@@classiccarrevivalsofficial I’m sore all S chassis have now paid the drift tax price, so any untouched ones left are mad money and rotten. Loved the XR2i with its twin fogs either side. I preferred little hot hatches, as did most. Always have soft spot for a nova and 205, but I’ve never managed to own a 5 turbo, yet…
Definitely satisfying 😌
Glad you think so! Thanks for following along
Love a MK 1, looking forward to seeing how this one comes back from the blaster
Me too, doesn’t look too bad at the moment 😅
@@classiccarrevivalsofficial i thought it looks a nice car pre strip down 👍 great team effort by you two

Haha that’s less than ideal 😂
Great work!
Thank you 👍🏻
Nice little project! Great start, look forward to the rest 🤙
Thanks! New golf video went live last night so check it out

Awesome! It’s had a semi resto before so it’ll definitely be interesting to see how it comes back after blasting!
Cant wait to see how it looks when its back from the media blasters, hopefully as clean as it looked.
Fingers crossed we don’t have much metalwork on this one 🤞
Admittedly I'm watching on a phone, but looks pretty clean to start with ?
Yeah it’s not bad at all tbf but a great candidate to build into something awesome
