Regarding students, it depends on the university and/or the seller of the ticket. I prefer the chip card. If you forgot it, you pay 60 €, but get 53 € in return later. If you lose ist, you get a new one for 10 €. Even the conductor said that the chip card is more effective. When he enters a compartment, passengers often need much time to activate their smartphones. Function: There are no data of the ticket on the card but your personal data and an individual "number". The conductor has a list of all numbers being valid (payment for the current month) and crosschecks it. That's all.
逃票是60欧，忘带了是7欧。我也被罚过，我的票在app里，当时是他们的app服务器出问题了，我的票显示不出来，但我给他看了app里每月自动扣费的记录，还给他看了银行扣款的记录，证明我是买了票的，那哥们儿不由分说还是强行给我开了60欧的罚单，给了我个地址，让我去申诉，我也知道跟他扯下去毫无意义，几天后跑到这个地址去，结果人家工作人员说这根本不归他们管，然后给了我个正确的地址，最后我找过去跟人一说，负责申诉的人都觉得这罚单开得毫无道理，直接把罚单收走了，跟我说这事儿太荒谬，不用缴罚款。

这个来钱还是快的，你们想想一个留子一天60欧元，一周就是600欧，一个月6,000欧，一年就有60,000欧。随手一查2024年德国有380,000留子，这样一年就是228亿欧，站着就把钱挣了
