I'm on the fence about this... On the one hand i've wanted a live action for my childhood for ages but if they screw this beloved franchise up.... I gonna feel bad for all the poor people who watch this movie.
The whole reason why the franchise ended was because they wanted to end it on a high note. Ending it where people still want more, leaving them with a continued love for the franchise before we get tired of it if they were to make too many movies. Secondly live actions ALMOST always are worse than their original material. Even the great ones that may be enjoyable cannot portray in a real life actor something that an animation can just do easily

There was such a loving spirit behind the original movies. Such joy and adventure. It isn't just the difference between animation and live action. I'm worried that the new movie won't have that sweet emotional connection that the originals do. The originals were made with the heart of a child.
Wow it's almost as if Vikings didn't die out over 1,000 years ago with 99% of their culture, I legitimately have fucking Viking heritage, like my family has documents from trade deals and shit like that and the language, we literally don't do anything they do, so whatever the fuck you say you can go shove it up your ass because as someone who is in fact basically 99% fucking Norwegian And is from a direct line of Vikings, they cast her perfectly.

I have a massive soft spot for the movies and Race to the edge. Admittedly I am looking forward to this but honestly I agree with most of the comments saying it didn’t really need to happen. I just don’t want them to ruin the rest of the movies and series. I am slightly worried but will embrace it into the universe if it 1 works with the rest of the movies and 2 if it’s actually a good movie. There are animations which could work amazingly as live action, like Atlantis or some other Disney movies, and there are some for which animation is the perfect means of telling the story, like httyd or Luca.
I honestly think an updated version of the first movie would be a better use if money. Give us the cleaner visuals of the second and third the same way we update graffiecs for some older videos games. Or even better, don't touch the franchise at all!

Hopefully, the new lad doing the voice of Hiccup, will have a Scottish accent like his father, rather than the previous actor who did the voice of Hiccup, who had a strong American accent! All this lends to the authenticity of the film..
I agree that the original franchise and corresponding shows are perfect. They're my favorite But I do have to admit I'm kind of curious as to what a live action would look like. Even if it's not perfect, it should be interesting
I might watch the movie when it comes out to streaming. Me personally, How To Train Your Dragon trilogy is perfect the way it is. It doesn't need a reboot. I also don't need it to be done live action as I have no need to see this characters, especially the dragons, be made real. I do hope the movie does well but I'm good with the movies and tv series.

I have a massive soft spot for the movies and Race to the edge. Admittedly I am looking forward to this but honestly I agree with most of the comments saying it didn’t really need to happen. I just don’t want them to ruin the rest of the movies and series. I am slightly worried but will embrace it into the universe if it 1 works with the rest of the movies and 2 if it’s actually a good movie. It shouldn’t taint the other movies and series if it is bad and I won’t let.
Yes I agree it is a very perfect animated film. The scenes are glorious!! The theme is grand and we'll paced!!

Why? Toothless is way too big. There's be no way Hiccup would be able to bring that down with a net launcher, and there's no way he'd be able to make a device to help Toothless fly.
If that's what the movie is like, it's already trash before it's released.

I'm not mad about this. I don't know if it will be as awesome as the animation ones but I don't mind I mean we still have the wonderful trilogy why not give this project the benefit of the doubt maybe we'll get a great addition to the fandom 💚

There are animations which could work amazingly as live action, like Atlantis or some other Disney movies, and there are some for which animation is the perfect means of telling the story, like httyd or Luca.
I loved the original so much, but I read the books after the movies, and there was so much changed, it would've been neat to hold closer to the books
I honestly think an updated version of the first movie would be a better use if money. Give us the cleaner visuals of the second and third the same way we update graffiecs for some older videos games.
Or even better, don't touch the franchise at all!

Y make a live action it’s perfect there missing out on something easy just do either a series in between the 2-3 movie cause there’s so much they could do /valka teaching them about dragons hiccup and the armor and toothless life as alpha or just berk itself and how it transformed into what it was under hiccups rule

Watch the original animated trilogy and leave it at that. This will only disappoint.
Hopefully, the new lad doing the voice of Hiccup, will have a Scottish accent like his father, rather than the previous actor who did the voice of Hiccup, who had a strong American accent! All this lends to the authenticity of the film..

I might watch the movie when it comes out to streaming. Me personally, How To Train Your Dragon trilogy is perfect the way it is. It doesn't need a reboot. I also don't need it to be done live action as I have no need to see this characters, especially the dragons, be made real. I do hope the movie does well but I'm good with the movies and tv series.

I love the franchise as it is, but I have no problem with live action as long as they stay true to the script and the origen of each caricature.
I Guarantee you that at some point they will have John Krasinski play Hiccup at some point
