I'm from Indiana I love that you're coming here and supporting golf courses thank you for highlighting Indiana as a great golf destination.
Seems like a state worth visiting!!
Go to park mammoth
Great courses. State with most Dye courses.
It's a Great Course Matt, glad you enjoyed your trip to Southern Indiana... Now, you need to add a few more Southern Indiana courses to your list... Chariot Run, Covered Bridge and Champions Point are three more you need to play, as well as Belterra towards Cincinnati...It's well worth the trip and the money to play it! Old Capital is a "Hidden Gem" as well!
Right across the river here in Kentucky in the Louisville Metro Area are a few exceptional courses... Persimmon Ridge, Heritage Hills, Nevel Meade and Glenn Oaks, and just 40+ miles south is Park Mammoth. And SEVERAL of the Kentucky State Park Courses, are PHENOMENAL... You should try a few of them too!
Trust me, all these other courses I've mentioned are Beautiful, Well Maintained, and will surprise the avid golfer that has never ever played these overlooked courses!
Chariot run might be the best value in Indiana! Love that place
Man. Everything about that place looks phenomenal. From the Chalet to the breakfast sandwich and in between, seems like your review really shows that as well. Beautiful!
I used to be a sportscaster in nearby Evansville in the early-mid 1990's and played there several times. Outstanding track and the villas are a new addition. Glad you enjoyed it and I love that place!
Former Hoosier now living in central Florida & played S.R. many years ago long before the new clubhouse. To me (and my group) it was a special round of golf. Breath taking views everywhere, with high quality tee boxes, fairways and wonderful greens which were not stupid fast. If God came down tomorrow and said "you only have one more round left; where do you want to play"? I'd respond, "best of the midwest - Sultan's Run"! Bogey Bill
I can say I've been lucky enough to play this course. I live in KY. This course is amazing
Love that place, only an hour from my house. You should play Chariot Run while your here next time. Another Grade A course like Sultans. Its awesome to see a big youtuber come to you local courses!
Chariot run is A+! Ironwood's is also a pretty decent course for the coin.
Coming down from Indy and playing Chariot for the first time on Saturday, pretty pumped!
I live in Owensboro Ky and I am 50 minutes away. I play it once a year for my special golf trip. Thanks for showing this great course.
Love sultans!!! Playing the Ross Monday and sultans next Monday!! 💯
These videos need to be longer. Watching him play more and seeing more of the course. I feel I need more! Love the videos
I live in northern indiana. Never heard of this place. Me and the boys are already talking about making a trip south to play this course because of this video!!
I lived in Evansville and Indy areas. Sultan’s Run is an absolute gem. Indy area has some amazing courses too. Purgatory, The Fort, etc. Purdue and IU courses are top notch and of course French Lick if you don’t mind shelling out💰. Go Irish
@Everythingis22 i went to IU so I'm vaguely familiar with the indy courses. Played prairie view and that was sweet. Gonna have to make it to sultans! Go irish!
I’m in southern Indiana and have played here at least a dozen times. I cannot recommend it enough.
I love playing Sultan's Run. Great course and reasonable price.
Thanks for coming to Southern Indiana. Stay at the West Baden Springs Hotel or French Lick Springs Hotel (w/ casino) next time. The house where #33 Larry Bird grew up & his HS gym are very near the heart of town, as is the Donald Ross course that hosted the 1924 PGA Championship. Oh, and yeah, the Pete Dye course as well. $$$. We hope you enjoyed what we like to refer to as our world-class “Hoosier Hospitality”. 😊
Went on a golf trip down to French Lick and played this course. It too me was the best course we played that weekend!! Definitely will be back
15-16-17-18 are excellent final 4 holes! Terrain & elevation changes, waterfall, oh some skill needed!
I’ve been there once. An April day that didn’t get above 42 degrees. Were we stupid? Yes. But we were the only group and the course didn’t close even though we offered. They said they’d stay for walk ins. Great bloody Mary’s were made. Met the owner. Super nice guy! We had a great time
And a tip of the hat to Jeff Howerton, the head pro. A friendly old school professional who can teach the modern swing.
There a place in KY called Park Mammoth that you need to try out. The designer was from Olde Stone in Bowling Green. Brand New course and their Club House might be done now.
I've played at Sultans Run on multiple occasions. I was in the EJGA and got to play once every year. Love the course.
I recommend the Schnitzelbank German joint in Jasper…good stuff. I remember trying to get back into shape and showing up and walking into the post shop, telling the pro I was going to walk 18. He looked at me sideways and said, “have you ever played here before?” So 2 hours later, I grabbed a cart and finished the back nine. 😂 Hills, Hills, Hills.
SG great video with zack and yourself . I live about a hour and 15 minutes away i have played this course numerous times and have always enjoyed my rounds there. One course in Indiana that love aswell is chariot run about hour east of sultans run about 30 minutes west of louisville ky maybe in near future you do of review of chariot run.
I am from Louisville KY and we have a TON of GRAET course. I wish I could have showed you a few hidden gems.
Matt your living the goodlife always thanks for the brakedown of the course and the crib what a sweet place. You out do the last trip always...
Incredible course and top notch review! Can't wait to plan our next trip there. Had the opportunity to play Streamsong Red after watching your review, and it was so much fun! We were scheduled to play the Black course, but cancelled to prep for 2 hurricanes...
I have played there a couple of times. Great course!!
was literally looking to see if you have reviewed this course and 12 minutes ago you uploaded this
Glad you had a great time in our backyard!! Let us know next time you visit Southern Indiana!😎
I’m from jasper!!! I had my wedding reception there and of course I play the course a lot
25 minutes from home. Just played there for the first time about a month ago. It is beautiful there!
My favorite local course. Thanks for doing an awesome review!!!
Damn I love you, MSG! You are such a crack-up, such a good egg. Thanks for taking us on your journey!
A really good short game area is essential
played this course abt 10 times. Great course!
7:17 a wild Zac Radford appears!!
Gonna have to check this one out next time I’m out in the Midwest! 🙂⛳️❤️👍🏼🇺🇸
Loved playing there in High School when we got to play for free.
Love the Zoysia. Have it up the road at Pfau and the Cascade Muni in B-town.
I wonder how many guests steal those range balls 😂
I can't believe i missed you two at the Dye. Good luck SG
Beautiful course!
70 southeast of our little town of Sullivan Indiana and the Elks golf course .
Mr. Short Game: How about trying to get on "Old Memorial' in Tampa Florida? Private Club owned by the Founders of the Outback Steakhouse chain. I have been lucky enough to play it a few times and it's something special.
Fun fact, grass in southern Indiana has approximately 1 billion chiggers per square inch. Don't wear shorts.
One of my favorites to play every year
Live forty minutes from sultans , good course if your in the area play the Donald Ross hill course along with the dye course in French lick ,in Also Santa clause has a good course.
Great course. You need to the the Pfau course at Indiana University. PGA level Pete Dye course.
Love playing there, I live in southern Indiana, so we go to French Lick also.
With a name like Mr. Shortgame, I would expect you to chip it in. Good job!
Love Your videos. Welcome to Scandinavia and Sweden... You will find a different kind of golf courses here. Where I live (southern part of Sweden), the golf season is (only) from mid april to mid of October...
Maybe Your "fanbase" would increase.
Planning a guys trip to Louisville and want to play a couple rounds of golf, do you have any other course recommendations for this area?
This course is top tier man. Hidden jem!
Live close and have played it. Great review.
Next time try Chariot Run near Elizabeth IN, fantastic!
Hoping to play that course next week.
Great course......played it several times
Check out Black Jacks Crossing, Lajitas TX. Tough to get there, but worth every penny.
Very interesting layout. Hillier than I thought would be in flat Indiana. On my bucket list of places to play……..
Indiana is not flat. Common misconception, but take it from a cycling enthusiast (as well as addicted golfer), Indiana is NOT flat.
People are always suprised when the come here. I have friends in Texas that come here every year to play for two weeks. They are always awestruck by the scenery and comment on how green it is.
Come down to Evansville Indiana and I'd love to host you out at Evansville CC!
most enjoyable. But I think Mr. SG's 2nd shot on 18 actually rolled off into the water.
So need to play Sultan’s Run
That chalet is freaking awesome. I hope I spelled that correctly
Man of the People!
I chipped in for birdie on 18 last time I played there 😆
It is now on my bucket list thanks MSG
May have to roll up there.
You should have told us you were in Indiana! Not horse country’s, Hoosier Country! Awesome course!
On the 18th hole. How far is it to clear the water to make the fairway
My daughter played two college matches there.
Sultans of swing
I feel like range balls should be included and stocked on the range for any round over $75-80.
Please play Evansville country club
Your short game is an 10+
Looks like a great course.
Price for the round ?
Pretty Nice tee marker. Something you should review
$115 weekends. Very affordable weekdays and twilight
Tim liddy design
I live 10 min from his first course he ever designed and it is Sultans little brother
yo MSG! love your content. come play a course in Kansas City!
Just played there last week
Get to Sandhills and Prairie Club please?
Very nice
The one course I've played that you can't walk. Those hills are no joke.
Why does Mr. Short Game play the other creators?
$55 in Jan thru March not bad
You hit the pin twice and were all around the hole with a half dozen shots, and that's why you call yourself "Mr. Short Game". The appellative seems appropriate.
Cool place and all but staying at the casino when playing French Lick is where it's at.
Tee boxes look trimmed and flat, traps/bunkers all raked clean, carpet for greens, logo golf cart, fat breakfast sammy..without looking, I'm thinking this is a resort course and is no less than $175 a round...shoulder shrug emoji
$115 weekends
You go with 12 buddies or stuck with strangers in the chalet? Lol
Really odd Airbnb ad Mr. Short game. How much did they pay you?
:)
Why do most all TH-cam golf creators who review courses rarely discuss green fees, accessibility to the nearest major airport, etc etc…. Yes we can look it up ourselves, but why not spare us the hassle? Details man, details….
Stay at french lick and do Ross/Dyes/This ~1000 bucks give or take for 2 nights
Also the bacon egg/cheese at Dyes/Ross is so solid.
That would be dope if The Ryder Cup, or PGA Championship would be played there someday. Probably too short for the pros I reckon… still would be dope!🫡
