I've heard of ghouls and djinns but not in pop culture rather than tales from my dad. My dad when he was about 7 or 8 years old once met with one. There was a graveyard which was initially during the times of wars used to be a graveyard and after it was just a big playground like land. People used to forbid crossing that land after 7 in the evening. that graveyard was a shortcut to cross to the other side of the road so people mostly preferred taking that shortcut but refrained from crossing after 7. So one day my dad and his best friend went to his best friend's sister's home to visit her and it was quite later like 7 or so and that friend told my dad that he would sleep over so he(my dad) should go. My dad, who never believed in any supe3rnatural thing started walking among that graveyard to reach his house and came through a duck with many of its ducklings. he didn't thought much and went ahead. And saw a she-dog with her puppies near him. He was confused as it was night and they were still awake. After reaching just at the end of that graveyard he saw a horse cuddling in the ground full of sand like as if the horse was trying to play with my dad. But he ignored that and went home just fine. After hearing all the incident my grandma confirmed that it was a "Sleda" or "Shapeshifter".

As a Muslim, I can tell that your information regarding Jinns was pretty much accurate, except missing a few points:
1. There are two types of Jinns; the good and the evil.
2. Jinns were the servant of Prophet Solomon(PBUH) in the prehistoric times.
3. Jinns have free will like Human beings, that's why they will enter either heaven or hell.
4. Although Jinns have free will, they are much powerful than human beings and can harm us either through black magic or their intentions.
The information I have given above is according to the Quran, if anyone doesn't want to believe in it then it's his choice, I am not forcing it to anyone.
