🌿 Ready to grow your own lemon tree at home? In this step-by-step video, we'll guide you through the fascinating process of propagating lemon trees from cuttings using a surprising yet effective material - Aloe Vera! 🍋✨
Step 1: Choose healthy lemon branches and ones that are old and have no fruit or flowers. It should be at least 1 inch in diameter. Cut branches into 8- to 10-inch lengths.
Step 2: Using a sharp anti cutter, make ring cut on the lower of the branch. Make another ring cut 1 inch above the branch.
Step 3: Take an aloe vera leaf. Apply aloe vera gel on the cut end of the branch. Aloe vera has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Aloe vera can help prevent fungal and bacterial infections. Aloe vera gel is a natural rooting hormone that promotes root growth. Aloe vera gel helps keep the cutting hydrated, which is crucial for root development.
Step 4: Take an 10-inch pot. The pot should have holes in the bottom for drainage. Fill the container with river sand.
Step 5: Plant the branches 2 to 3 inches deep. Plant the cuttings 1
to 1.5 inches apart. and give water well. Cover the cuttings with plastic bottles to create a humid environment. Place the pot in a shady place.
Step 6: Shoots should start to emerge within 20 days.
Be patient, It takes several 30 to 50 for roots to develop.
Once the roots have developed you can transplant the lemon trees into individual pots or into the ground.
Step 7: Prepare a pot with well-draining potting mix. Plant the rooted lemon branch in the pot, ensuring the roots are covered and the plant is well-supported. Place the potted lemon tree in a bright location with indirect sunlight. Water regularly to maintain soil moisture, and provide fertilizer as needed. With proper care, your new lemon tree will thrive and eventually produce its own delicious lemons.
Additional: The best time to propagate a lemon tree from cutting is during the spring or summer months. This is because the weather is warm and humid, which encourages root growth.
Specifically, the best months to propagate a lemon tree from cutting are:
    Spring: March, April, May
    Summer: June, July, August
If you are propagating a lemon tree from cutting during the fall or winter months, you may need to wait long time. You may also need to provide supplemental heat for the cuttings.is important to keep the cuttings warm and humid.
With a little care and attention, you can easily propagate lemon trees from cuttings and grow your own delicious lemons at home.🍋Thank you!😍

It looks like despite the fact that you said to place the cuttings in the shade after you planted them that you ended up using a grow light to facilitate the cuttings’ growth. When did you start to use the lights and how long did you light up the cuttings everyday? Did you allow any natural sunlight onto the cuttings?

I asked to be kept in the shade. That means keep outdoors in a shady place, keep the pot in a bright location with indirect sunlight. thank you

Will this work with any citrus tree? My neighbor has a very good tangerine tree that produces wonderful fruits. I want to see if I can get a cutting to clone. Thanks!

Please answer this, it's very important..
I planted some orange or lemon seeds, which reached almost 1.5 meters last year, but it was very thin and damaged from the top, so I cut it.
Now they are both 60 cm tall, but when they produce leaves, the buds turn black and fall! What is the reason for that?
And if I want to root from them, what is the best way?
Cuttings with aerobic roots or should I cut them and put them in the sand?
These trees are memories for me.
    Please explain well, thank you

    • @ShafikulGarden
      @ShafikulGarden  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I understand how important these trees are to you, and I'm glad you're trying to save them. The blackening and dropping of buds could be due to several factors, so let's explore each possibility and discuss the best way to root them:
Possible reasons for bud blackening and dropping:
Lack of nutrients: Your trees might be lacking essential nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, or potassium. This can stunt growth and make them susceptible to diseases.
Overwatering or underwatering: Both extremes can stress the trees and affect their ability to produce healthy buds and fruits.
Fungal or bacterial infection: Fungal diseases like Alternaria can cause black spots and fruit rot. Bacterial diseases like citrus canker can also cause similar symptoms.
Insect damage: Pests like aphids or scales can feed on buds and leaves, weakening them and making them fall.
Cuttings with aerial roots: This is the preferred method for citrus trees.
Yes, cuttings with aerial roots or cutting them can be planted in sand.
Cutting in sand: This method can be successful.
Test the soil pH: Citrus trees prefer slightly acidic soil (pH 6-7). If your soil is too alkaline, it can affect nutrient uptake.
Apply a balanced fertilizer specifically for citrus trees according to the instructions on the label.
Prune dead or diseased branches to improve air circulation and prevent the spread of pathogens.
Monitor your trees for pests and diseases and take appropriate action if necessary.
      Understanding the cause:
Take a picture of the affected buds and leaves and consult a local nursery or garden center for professional advice.
Send a sample of the affected tissue to a plant diagnostic lab for testing.
Remember, with proper care and attention, your trees can recover and continue to be cherished memories for you. Don't be discouraged and keep trying!
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

You are a humble and valuable person. I really thank you for your very useful and complete explanations, and I don't know how to thank you for giving importance to my question. And most importantly, the perception of the memory of the tree, thank you very much 💐
I just wanted an answer for this part of my question, if I use a part of the trees for the root, which of the following will answer well - which method should I use to root the cutting,
-is the root like air layering good, or
-should I cut a part of trees and put it in the soil for rooting?
Most importantly, what soil should I use that is better? Sand, cocopit or coconut leaves?
Shall I pour tea leaves and use that for best result?
Thank you for your attention and kindness, dear brother

You can do air layering, because the success rate of air layering is very high. and air layering method takes less time. I have videos on air layering lemon trees that you can watch.
I am giving you one of my video title: Best method of propagation lemon tree by air layering with tissue paper. Thank you!
