Combined with stage control, Lucas can extend his combos in many different and creative ways, he has all the tools in his kit to extend out each combo, it just takes time to learn how to space all the moves out properly, e.g.: down tilt only locks at the tip of his foot, or PSI Magnet is active for slightly longer than the actual visual effect of the move, or just being able to know exactly how much knock back a move has just from memory. These are the reasons why I continued playing Lucas, even after all the stupid changes to the meta of Sm4sh. In Ultimate, if he doesn't have his down throw combos, he still has run up up tilt or down tilt, and that is very good for aerial combos or just getting stage control, and I feel like Lucas will rely more off stage control than combos in Ultimate. I will still main him, even if he sucks, because I love Mother 3. I wanna marry that game.
I feel like Lucas and Captain Falcon are the perfect characters for smash. They are both monstrously powerful characters but they require you to have an in depth knowledge and grasp of the game for you to be good with them, and when you get on a roll with them, they can seem impossible to beat.
Also, yes, PK Freeze to PK Freeze to PK Freeze IS a true combo, but only if you time it perfectly with their button mashing, which is near impossible to do, but it pays off if you land it
After escaping ice, there are a few frames where they enter the jump animation and cannot act out of it with anything at all, allowing you to attack them again, and even use ANOTHER PK Freeze, and they get frozen again, but I'm not sure if you can do it in Ultimate, maybe they have some sort of staling system for how much a character gets frozen by a move, maybe they get frozen for shorter times the more they get hit, maybe they don't freeze at all after a certain amount of times they got hit, maybe even both, but all I know is that it still works in Sm4sh, and it is dope as hell.
I think mode got the best combos it's just optimal most of the time REALLY LOVE IT magnetgoat got the most creative combos and I didn't know moobesor had a Lucas but whoa he got one and really good one
0:10 I am 100% confident he could have thrown his shield up in time. If I'm ever locked depending on if it's doubles or not I hold shield in case they fuck up...because what else can you really do.
Were there even any new clips in this? Seems like they were all reused... Pretty disappointed. For example, that clip of magnetgoat at 1:43 (which is well over a year old) has been used in like 3 different montages now. At least get a few new clips if you're going to make a new montage.
