- Eumir Marcial, the Philippine Olympian and one of Manny Pacquiao's newest MP Promotions fighter, shined in his professional debut as he outboxed Andrew Whitfiled by way of UD.
The highly touted prospect from the Philippines was recruited by the legendary Manny Pacquiao and is trained by the world-renowned Freddie Roach. Marcial, a native of Lunzuran, Zamboanga City, won every round against Whitfield, of Lewiston, Idaho, although each man landed their share of power shots.
The fight started quickly with the powerful Marcial standing his ground throwing left and right handed bombs while Whitfield answered in kind with a number of strong uppercuts of his own. Marcial started attacking to the body as well as the head in the second, slowing Whitfield's momentum and nearly closing his right eye by the end of the round.
By electing to go toe-to-toe, Marcial, who qualified for the 2020 Olympics before it was postponed and won the silver medal at the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships, made for an exciting action fight. The scores were 40-36 according to all three judges. Marcial threw 310 punches and landed 120. Whitfield threw 273 and landed 46.

I like Marciel's offense, his head movement however is almost non-existent, and he gets caught with his hands down at times. He needs to make defense a priority ASAP.

Marcial is a strong fighter... needs more conditioning... took too many shots, put those hands up... kinda looked a bit tired at the 4th round. Needs to show more promise, specially in front of coach freddie..

Marcial is a good fighter but he needs to improve more on his foot work, speed and strategy for a bigger title to follow the ability of Pacquiao. So far i would not compare him to Pacquiao tallent in boxing. Congratulations for winning the fight.
