Oops! I don't think I was clear enough in the video, but to answer if it's a dupe of SDV, imho, no it's not. Both still are absolutely beautiful though 😊
In comparison with Vanilla 28, how would you compare both? I can't test spirituese double vanille and I'm leaning on a blind buy (expensive blind buy)
I blind bought this after seeing/hearing a lot of hype, and it continually being sold out! I think I had too high of expectations, but to me it smells like brown sugar and vanilla from Bath and Body Works. I do find it layers well though with almost everything!

Glad you finally tried it. I Love this scent . I find it very addictive. I have a backup bottle of it at all times. The brown sugar, the vanilla essence. I do detect some musk in the background. The longevity not great but it lasts longer on clothing . It smells great also layered with Eden juicy apple.
I finally tried this about a month ago but I predicted it was gonna be ‘just ok’ for me (based on the people who have reviewed it and how similar our tastes are, maybe I pre-biased myself too much though). 🤷🏻♀️ It’s a nice enough scent but I’ve tried lots of high quality smooth vanillas and this is too sharp for me. It also didn’t develop (change) much past 5 minutes and I got tired of it. I prefer my scents to tell me a long story 😆 So, unpopular opinion: not worth the hype! Glad it works much better for you. It’s certainly way more affordable than SDV! 😅

I tried Vanilla 28 a few years ago and wasn’t a big fan, but I recently tried it again and fell in love! Isn’t it funny how that happens sometimes? Now it is one of my favorites. So comforting and cozy!

After months of it being sold out, I was finally able to pick it up at the Sephora sale. I was excited as I've heard so much about it, but thankfully I listened to my gut and got the small bottle because it was awful. It turns out that there is a musk that I have a bad reaction to. It burns my nose and overpowers scents. Sadly, Vanilla 28 has this musk in it. It's all I can smell. So many perfumes are ruined for me because of this musk. It's almost painful to smell. I've been trying for the past two weeks to give the bottle away, but no one liked it, which surprised me. I was finally able to pass it on to a client this afternoon. So glad to have it off my hands and away from my nose.
Arlene! I just picked this up during The Sephora VIB Sale! I thought it was probably overrated but I figured I could return it. It’s positively DIVINE!!! Blew me away!! I cannot believe just how beautiful it is!! I also just bought Lolitaland from Fragrancex and also LOVE it!! Two beautiful blind buys!! One cheap and the other not but SO worth it. Thrilled to have it in my collection. I also bought the travel size because it came back in stock during the sale. So I have the baby for travel too! The bottle is also GORGEOUS. ❤️❤️❤️

I blind bought the 100ml for the VIB sale earlier this month (the only size available in Canada for months) and I love it; the opening litteraly made me dance in my apartment. I love a blind buy that works.
The dry down is mostly sugar, vanilla and musk but I think it's nice and I can see why it's popular with the masses.

I didn’t particularly love it at first. It I had a travel size and used it as a nighttime scent. Now I love it. I just bought the big bottle to replace my empty travel size. It’s simple. It’s extracty and brown sugary and not much else to me. But sometimes that’s just what I want.

I LOVE Vanilla 28. The orchid and the smoky aspect balances it well. When I want to tone the sweetness down a little, I layer it with Libre Intense and it becomes a stunner. So many people ask what is my perfume when I do that.

I don't know what happened to my nose, but I used to LOVE this scent. Smelled like delicious cookies to me. Was wearing it every single day, then one day, it just smelled like church, like church furniture or something and now I can't stand it. So weird 😔
That has happened to me for sooo many scents. :/
I found a set at Sephora, and i was surprised it cost me $80 something. I love it too, i find it long lasting and it has good projection, just enough for me im not picky in that matter. I love when you review something i already have lol. 💕
Finally! A comparison of Kayali 28 and Le Couvent Des Minimes Eau Des Missions. These are pretty identical in my opinion. Eau Des Missions was my first fragrance purchase back in the day lol. I bought a huge bottle from Ulta when I heard it was discontinued. Over time, this fragrance gets better and better…As soon as I sampled Kayali in Sephora, this is what I thought of. In fact, Eau Des Missions may even smell better. Just my opinion. And I opted out of buying Kayali. Just isn’t worth the hype to me.
I'm probably in the minority, but I don't care for Vanilla 28 at all. It just didn't work on my skin.

Vanilla 28 is a good fragrance however, it is not even in the same league as Guerlain.
So I adore SDV, and only have a 5ml of it so i use it very sparingly. However i did get a clone by Be Layered that is very similar and I adore it too. In fact I already used up the 10ml travel spray and am planning on buying another or the full bottle. (I feel the same about their Ancient Amber which is supposed to be a clone for Grand Soir. I wouldnt say its a clone per say as it has a lot more of a prominent sweetness. Its also incredibly potent and long lasting. I feel like Grand Soir doesnt announce its presence to the same extent, however it has the longevity (at least on my clothes) and is such a gorgeous and refined scent. (The perfect amount of resin with sweetness and spice. But i also went thru Ancient Amber travel spray and now have a full bottle.) Anyway I think anyone on a budget or who just wants to save money would be very happy with Be Layereds SDV dupe: Sweet Spirit. Just so heavenly. A perfect vanilla and very similar to SDV. As far as the Kayali i love it as well, yet i love SDV and the Be Layered dupe even more. And both seem to last longer as well. Also after i started your video i went and speayed my Kayali on and it occurred to me that parts of the opening actually remind me some of La Belle as well as Vanilla Woods. Never thought about it before but there you go! Lol. Thanks for the review. Btw I'm so jealous of your SDV full bottle. Theyre so expensive! And now that gorgeous bottle is gone too! No!!! Lol.
Ohhh I should try to get my nose on the 7 Virtues one. I always hear such great things about the house. 😊
Kayali is lovely but nowhere near SDV
My favorite vanillas are Spirituese Double Vanille in no 1. Then Kayali Vanilla, then Cuir de Nuit from Yves Rocher, then Eu de missions! Then Fire at Will Javoy, Mazzalori Vaniglia, those are my absolute favorites!
Ok i have to look into these asap! Lol. Have you tried Tihota? I love that one as well! Also for prominent vanillas with a little extra I love Sublime Vanille by Creed, Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef & Arpel and Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens. I really cant get enough vanilla! Lol. Always looking for recommendations! 😊

My favorite Yankee candle was/is Vanilla Amber and Kayali Vanilla 28 smells almost exactly like it! I don’t mind smelling like my favorite Yankee candle lol

I just blind bought 7 virtues santal vanille and it is so great! Now I want to try others from this house. I’ll put vanilla woods on my list to try!

I kinda hate vanilla perfumes. Too much vanilla is boring n makes me feel sick. Its way overused in perfumes. That and jasmine. 🤢

I'm also mad I bought into the hype of this perfume. I tried a tester at Sephora and thought it was nice. BUT this has become a perfume I actually dislike. It barely projects and its burns my nostrils when I first spray it. It has no longevity. Its very immature, child-like, very "teenage-girl-starting her -first-perfume-collection" type fragrance. I think that is her core audience. As a grown woman I think there are soooo many richer sophisticated perfumeries available. It is my first and last Kayali purchase. I've smelled the rest of her line and it is so basic...
They are NOTHING alike. Not even close.
