Oh Julia, I am so so sorry. Your gran knew that she could leave this planet as she could see that you are now grown and able to stand on your own feet, and that you are happy, safe and secure with your husband. Her time was up, and she's now flying free. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, never mind a long life all we can learn from this is that we only have 'now'. I am so sorry for your loss sweetie. I'm so sorry for your loss, Julia. No words can fix anything right now. In the future months and especially years from now you will have a time capsule of video footage and experiences of her that will always be here. One of the best decisions you could have ever made in your life was starting this channel and journey with Matt. Oh Julia. This resonates, though it does not need too resonate for me to feel empathy for your loss. My great aunt who lived till 93, and died over a year ago, was like a mother, father, grandmother to me. Even when I moved overseas, she called me and I called her. Until she couldn't anymore. I don't think I have truly proccessed my loss yet and seeing your pain- I still feel somewhat disconnected from mine. I am not ready but I am still tearing up for you. You are sharing what grief can feel like and I know this is not easy- but I appreciate your vulnerability and honesty here. Thank you for sharing. A big virtual hug from across the sea. Sweet Julia, I'm so deeply sorry for you and your family. I've always loved the videos you've shared with your Gran in them and the love between you was evident. I have the same bond with my granddaughter as she lives with me and when it's my time to go, the last thing I want is for her not to be able to move on. I know she'll miss me, but i want her to hang on to the love we shared and remember the things I've taught her. I'm pretty sure that your Gran would feel the same and that she'd be sad to know how much you're struggling. It's very early days and you're in shock and i think the rawness will wear off and you'll be able to properly grieve. Take your time and do it your way, with support from Matt and your family. I never knew my grandparents and that's why I've vowed to be the best one I can for my granddaughter, but I don't ever want her to suffer like i see you are now. I’m so sorry for this loss . I am so glad you went and were with your family during this time. It is important to grieve and to have been able to do that with family. Grief is horrible in the beginning… like tidal waves crashing over us. The waves will begin to grow smaller and less frequent. You will always have Gran in your heart and your memories will become very cherished. When I lost my mama in 2020, I felt like my anchor had been cut loose and I was drifting alone. ❤

Julia you are such a brave person for doing this video in your deepest hours of grief. To share your sadness and sense of loss will open others’ hearts. Your dearest Nan, a child of war, was able to travel the world with you and Matt vicariously. She saw all the places you experienced through your eyes,stories and videos. What a gift you gave her. Watching the videos in which you visited her in Siberia so clearly showed the love you had between you. My wish for you is that those memories can help you through this grief. Julia, I am so sorry for your loss. I know that the pain you are feeling now is overwhelming but I need to tell you that although you won’t “get over” your loss you will learn to cope and live with it. I know that at this point you may think that it won’t happen but I promise you it will happen; it will be slow but it will happen.
I lost my mum 12 months ago (April 29) and it has been very hard. Lots of tears and guilt (for no reason); some days were ok (and I felt guilty about that) ok but then the pain of grief would overwhelm me. Matt will help you just as my partner did; take all of the love and hugs you are offered. I spoke to a counsellor as well and it has helped me.
You are the good loving person you are today because of your gran and how you showed your love to her. Whatever you do, remember that. x

Don't lose insight on what your gran would have wanted for you. Tough times dont last. Tough people do. She would be proud of you. Loss is the hardest thing to deal with. Especially when it can put you in a tough spot emotionally. I dealt with my mom's loss at 17. Im 34, and it's still not easy to this day! Keep your head up high, and always remember she lives in your heart. That's what people who we have loss would want!

Julia, my Gramma died 20 years ago when i was 26. She was amazing and i miss her so much. Your raw emotion brought me to tears. I am still reeling from my feelings. You will never stop missing your Gran and nothing will fill the void she has left. The thing that you can do to have comfort in her absence is live your life ina way that honors her and treat people the way she treated you. Spread her love to everyone you meet and she will live forever.

I always loved the videos of when you visited your Gran and when you would cook together, it was so beautiful to watch. Allow yourself the time and space to just "be" and to grieve her loss in your life. There is no right or wrong way to come to terms with such a deep loss.
My husband died in January and we would have celebrated our 31st anniversary yesterday,
I chose to spend the day reflecting on and celebrating what a wonderful man, husband and father he was and our lovely life together. Gratitude is a great healer.

I was only 6 when my Granma died so I only remember vague memories of her and my Grandad died before I was born but I would have love to have met him as my mum adored him and named me after him. But we have to live the life we are given and make the most of life with those we share it with. Julia i lived with my grandparents for half of my upbringing....when my grandad died at 92 years of age he was so religious he died of pancreatic cancer 6 month then gone, I felt not bad as I thought he lived a very long life he was happy, he gave and taught me so much that if felt happy to have known this man in my life that made changes and kept me in a stable condition...he bought me my first car and I loved my grandfather so much after my nan died....I felt I cook him nice meal clean the house and just look after him and I gave him that and I know I gave my best and that is what you have done with you gran gave your best and there should not be sadness just happiness because you where a big part or her life and she was a big part of your life growing up so celebrate death and think of her in another way she was very old like my grandad and I thought he would live until 100 he did not smoke or drink etc and he had a wonderful life so I celebrate his wonderful life and do not be sad please death is part of life and evolving et just think of good thing now and you will feel better

Oh Julia what a heartbreaking video. So hard to watch you so upset. Nan's are very special and I grew up with my nan and grandad from the age of 10, my grandparents were so precious to me. Like you they were not just grandparents but like my parents too. My nan taught me to knit! One of my fondest memories as a child is shelling peas at the kitchen table that my grandad had grown in his allotment ❤ give yourself time to grieve. The recipe book is a beautiful idea and I think your gran would love it ❣️

I'm so very sorry. I know exactly how you're feeling, I lost my incredible mum two years ago at the age of 89. It sounds as though I had the same relationship with my mum that you did with your gran. She was my world, my rock, she knew me better than anyone else possibly ever could, she always knew exactly what to say to me to make everything better. She was my best friend and was all I had. So much of what you say rings true. The world is no longer the same, everything feels wrong. Yes, people say that time heals, but I'm yet to find that to be the case. It's true that the tears come less often, but the emotions and feelings stay strong. Sending you courage in the hope that in some small way, it helps you to deal with this incredibly difficult time. My thoughts are with you. 🙏
