Small beautiful town...a perfect place if you want to enjoy retirement life. Very peaceful with all essential things around the town. I lived there for a year. Wonderful experience. Thanks for making me to remember the days.
Worked at the Fleece in the town centre for a short while, through one summer season. Had a great time, the people are quite posh, and very well off. Princess Diana and Prince Charles lived just up the road, and Wills and Harry played polo in the town too. Cirencester has it's own open-air swimming pool, or lido as they call it. Spent many nights sneaking in in the wee small hours for a swim underneath the stars. Lots of very fond memories of my time there.
Grew up there after WW2. School at Oakley hall. Got married here. Seems so empty now all friends and family gone, still visit Nanna and grandads grave. Chris Pope Exeter.
