I have stayed overnight in this town twice. It was not always as nice, and was being ruined by modernity, but was restored to how it looked in the Edo period after the citizens decided to preserve the traditional look of the town. If you are in Japan, please visit and stay overnight there if you have not already, as many people there are dependent on tourists.

Do you have a Japanese garden nearby? If so, it's an opportunity to experience some Japanese culture outside of Japan. Japanese gardens often have special events where you can watch koto players, participate in tea ceremonies, learn about bonsai, watch aikido demonstrations, etc. If they offer tours of the garden, it's a great opportunity to learn about the reasons Japanese gardens have special features like zigzag bridges, tortoise and crane stones, upward curving roofs, and so on. Also, a Japanese garden looks different in each season (spring and early fall are my favorites) so it's worth going multiple times a year.
I'm listening to this beautiful music and my mind starts drifting, I write several pages of thoughts, then read some of the comments about what tasks people have done while listening to it. Ever seen any of Japan? Or just big cities? I've only been to Tokyo, and while it was different, the people were overwhelmingly polite and went out of their way to help.
When I listen to this beautiful music, it is indeed biased towards traditional Chinese music. The traditional music of these two countries may be a little difficult for foreigners to distinguish, I guess. Until I heard the crow call in the background music, I could tell that the composer must have lived in Japan. hahaha カラスは神様みたいな存在だ!www

It's a nice idea, but the title is misleading. I was expecting *ambient noise* of a Japanese village, not some Asian music of unclear origin, with location-unspecific rain in the background.
Thank you for the feedback, I never meant to be misleading- the location is specified in the post you’re replying to, and the music is of Chinese origin also specified in the post. I have a few other Japanese videos you might like better that do not include music if you search my playlists. Otherwise I hope you find the video you’re looking for even if not on my channel 🥰
@@ChettaMonster Thanks, I'll check your playlist. Nice of you to provide these videos. Since I feel misunderstood...allow me to explain my previous comment, if I may... I was referring precisely to the content of your post. You name a location of where this ambience is taking place, but with the music drowning out any of the subtle ambient noises, there's not much left to appreciate except for some quiet rain and thunder. If this Japanese village has any personality in its sound, I can't hear it. There's just very subtle rain, sounding the same as anywhere else in the world. Who performs the song and what is its title? Are you even sure it's Chinese? If no one can answer that, I'd say it's a song of unclear origin. Or am I wrong? Still, thanks for your channel content!

aw thanks! I have a few others in my Japanese Playlist, and some avatar the last Airbender videos too with similar r music if you’re interested :)
@@ChettaMonster Thankyouu!
I went to Japan in 2018 and since then I have only one desire, and that is to return there, longer. It was strange, but I felt like I was home, just as much as my real home, safe, even at night.
I will be going to Japan soon, for the 10th time. I hope to visit this village. Japan has the magic of transporting you to a peaceful place with the beautiful incense aroma that permeates the towns.
have a safe and fun trip!
It’s amazing, this song brings me deep peace and helps me focus on my tasks
Excellent! 🥰❤️🌻
Super helpful in my late night studies (03:47AM). Best company, ever. Kept me motivated and alert. Thank you.
I'm so sorry I'm not sure how I missed this comment, thank you for watching and taking time to leave a note :) I'm glad this was helpful in studying, but I hope you were able to catch up on your sleep soon after :P
This is actually relaxing wow. Not too loud or quiet.
glad you like it! checkout my Japanese theme playlist I’ve got lots more ❤️
I read this in Kiryu's voice, thanks Kiryu.
I take a break from doing my work on my computer and order Japanese food about once a week. I usually get sushi, and do nothing but listen to this in the background the whole time I'm eating. Specially when it's quiet. It's very relaxing.
I love sushi 😋
I could seriously listen to this for hours ! I love this atmosphere
🥰 I’m so glad you like it
Just want to let you know, I've been struggling with insomnia for months now and I've tried literally everything I can think of to help get some sleep. This video is the only thing I've tried and I've had consistent success with. Thank you so much!!!!
oh wow that’s amazing- not being able to sleep when you’re tired is so frustrating :( I hope you keep seeing success ❤️❤️
So beautiful. Always wanted to be in Japan, this music makes me feel like I'm there when I close my eyes. So nice, thank you.
I’m happy to hear you liked it 🥰🥰
My daughter in law is Japanese... i should ask her about this .... In my opinion I hear no boundaries of culture and unless i was to look up musical instruments I would not know any different . I love this ... I feel it is a wonderful way to focus on the tasks at hand and not be jarred by any annoyances. Whether it is in fact Korean, Japanese or Chinese or Indian matters not ... Thank you so much for sharing this with us .... the world on lockdown . Any effort to comfort and relax us during this time is greatly appreciated. cheers and wishing you all happiness and joy ...even only if for the duration of this video compilation .
You’re very kind, and have made me feel better about my honest mistake. You nailed it, why I haven’t removed or edited the video- Ive had so many people say it has been helpful to them in these difficult times and I don’t want to take that away. Thank you for your very comforting words ❤️
I have been listening to many different stuff while working, and this is amazing ! Japanese and Chinese relaxation musics are my favorite, and the rain on top of that it's a little paradise ! Keep going please, this is so helpful whether it is to work or to relax ! Thank you !! Right, I'm going back to my Feminist Philosophy essay now ! aha
Amazing- good luck with your essay!!
Healing and Soothing for the Soul.
I call it Shogun's lullaby
Water give loves, cleanse you, sooth you, cool you down, and makes you relax just by listening to it.
😌 (love your username❤️)
There is pure music. Thank you.
Thanks glad you enjoy it 🥰
This world is so beautiful if you look at it through the right glasses
why do i want to be there with my loved ones. meeting with family in their houses, playing video games watching good movies...
Wow i just found this! I adore Japan and japanese culture :) Thank you so much :) This fulfilled me with super positive energy and life!
aw happy to hear that! I’ve got a few more Japanese themed videos, hope you’ll check them out ❤️
@@ChettaMonster I will ! I would like to see western themes also :)
love that idea!
It felt so nostalgic I've set foot in japan before go to mountains seeing views and history and i love to see everything again even the breeze there it's nice
I'm half Japanese and I've never been. I hope to visit relatives I've never met in person some day. This feels so familiar to me.....
Ever seen any of Japan? Or just big cities? I've only been to Tokyo, and while it was different, the people were overwhelmingly polite and went out of their way to help.
Okey so why the hell am i crying 😭 This is so beautiful. Whenever I close my eyes, I definitely can imagine the nice view of Japan 🇯🇵 ❤️
🥰
It's even More Beautiful if You were here.
When I listen to this beautiful music, it is indeed biased towards traditional Chinese music. The traditional music of these two countries may be a little difficult for foreigners to distinguish, I guess.
Until I heard the crow call in the background music, I could tell that the composer must have lived in Japan. hahaha
カラスは神様みたいな存在だ!www
Is beautiful, peaceful. Would love to be there walking that street. Maybe in the next world 😌
I think I found best ambience on TH-cam.
Wow! I don't know if that's true, but it sure made my day :) hope you'll take a look at some of my other content and let me know what you think- I'm always trying to improve!
...I enjoy this type of music. I am familiar with Japanese Culture & traditions having lived in Okinawa and married to Okinawan. Their Culture and Traditions are one that our family follows and lives by. Thank-you! Angelsan...
Oh how cool! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😄
Relaxing and varied enough to be fun for longer sessions. I Love it :D
The only question is:
Why didn't youtube recommend me this channel sooner?
haha glad we found eachother in the end! 🥰 hope you’ll take a look at some of my other videos and let me know what you think- the feedback is super helpful!
I really, really love your profile picture! It is super cute!
Agreed! 😻
Like someone else mentioned about themself I'm also thousands of miles away from Japan and never been to Japan but this makes feel nostalgic almost homesick for this little Japanese town. I would so much love to walk down that sloping street at dusk in the rain before I die.
this is a real place! check the pinned comment, you can visit and do exactly what you described ❤️
@@ChettaMonster Thank you and I hope to do it although I obviously won't be able to guarantee the rain!
Such a beautiful place, the music couldn't be anymore suited to it. Proper gorgeous 😊
Thank you 😊
This shit is THE SHIT for studying, i feel like an ancient japanese philosopher.
😂 nice!
I've heard it a lot of times, but it's a magic version that can't be missed
Anyone who listens please give me a thumbs up
Something about the rain sound isn't quite real, but it's worth overlooking because this is really great. This is helping me to feel more inspired about writing my story.
Less than 5 minutes in and I'm already happy. I'm crocheting and this is so peaceful! Thank you!
Oh how cool! What are you making? I do needle point. Love crafting 🥰 thanks for watching and so glad you enjoyed it!
visiting this mix is just adding amazing to my day
🌻❤️ that brightens *my* day!
Managed to write the synthesis of my entire Australian Civilisation course with this audio, thank you very much. Please share what you managed to do listening to this audio!
That’s incredible!! Thank you so much for sharing that 🥰 and well done! 🤘🏻
That mustn't be too long mate.
😂
Sure thing! I managed to chip away at a rather large art project. Anyone else? What did you do?
I read while listening this
JUST READ 📖📖📖
this music is so relaxing. thank you. i
it's the best, i always comeback to watch it again while i study, i even use it to sleep.
happy you enjoyed it :)
Japanese villages are so calm and relaxing... right? *Welcome to Hinamizawa*
The scene seems mystical. So appropriate with the beautiful peaceful music. I'm listening to this a as a snow blizzard surrounds my home.
☃️❄️ happy snow day! I have a whole winter playlist if you’d like more ambience to go with the outside weather ☺️ th-cam.com/play/PLpfoGs7DeGjbN_uObrEMsfBh6e2qwv1kN.html
This helped me to calm down so much and relax. It's beautiful. Thank you! 🙏🏻✨
🥰🥰
Wow, already been Japan 5 times this really catches the essence of Japan.
glad you think so 🥰
ill definitely listen to this while studying Japanese in the future wish me luck
🍀
Just great to fall asleep too. One of the best of these style vids ever.
aw appreciate it!
Did you know I have an entire playlist of japan inspired ambiences? tinyurl.com/y6gs5mwn
Location- Magome juku
Magome (馬籠) is a former post town in the Kiso Valley, which served travelers of the Nakasendo, a major route that connected Tokyo with Kyoto during the feudal ages.
The town has been beautifully restored with a broad stone walkway lined with wooden buildings and carefully tended foliage. Magome's embellished preservation contrasts with the rugged authenticity of neighboring Tsumago. The two towns are connected by the Magome-Tsumago Trail, a route which was part of the Nakasendo.

@@ChettaMonster
Thanks, I'll check your playlist.
Understood, thank you for clarifying. I’ll try to do better in the future 👍🏻
@@ChettaMonster I Love the communication and personality of this community even though we can be un knowing of somethings we can still be intelligent peaceful and genuine about what we don't know and enjoy growing and learning from one another. I Love this community.
We are proud to be on the cover of these songs. your songs give life to our photos. thank you for everything
These times would be great to visit japan since the virus has made many cities like Kyoto so empty
This is so peaceful, especially with the light rain and the mountains in the background.
so glad you like it 👍🏻
I wish to live in a place like this for one year
I wish for all my life
I was telling somebody that I normally listen to 'louder' music when I'm streaming (One OK Rock for example or video game soundtracks when I don't want to listen to stuff with words) but I've got a headache today and I noticed youtube recommended this to me so I decided to give it a go. It's very nice and chill! I'm enjoying it a lot. :)
Sorry about your headache- glad you found my channel ☺️ hope you’ll take a look around at some of my other stuff!
Relaxing gives me a lot of nostalgia of rainy days in my childhood even tho I’m 14
🤗 that’s so sweet
Just found your channel through TH-cam's suggestion algorithm, probably since I listen to a lot of videos like these ny other people. And my GOD, this was beautiful. Thank you for making it.
Oh cool! That’s really interesting to know I’m being suggested somewhere! Hope you’ll check out some of my other videos too and let me know what you think ☺️👍🏻
@@ChettaMonster I will. I like listening to this kind of music while I write.
This makes me want to light some incense while I do homework lol. I've loved the smell of incense ever since I went to Vietnam (I'm half Vietnamese). I don't think I have any Japanese heritage as far as I know, but I love Asian culture as a whole, and am very proud of some of the amazing things my ancestors have done. And yes the music sounds more like Chinese lol.
I went to Japan as a young Marine in 1977. At first, it was just another military duty station. After I learned a little about the culture, the whole place became so beautiful !!!! I would love to go back now that I am 69 years old.
what a cool experience - thanks for sharing it with us, I hope you do get to go back 🥰
@@ChettaMonster I am on the net every day looking at videos of everything about Japan. It’s called Japanology. Amazing video!!!!!!!
