Man, I really enjoy this movie. I absolutely love the action scenes, but when it gets down to the nitty, gritty stuff about the Gospel, this scene is THE BEST EVER!!!
This movie truly hit home with me. I myself am a fatherless son and I still have not met my biological father. I lost my only father figure when I was 8 years old. It wasn't until I was 14 and finally got involved in a church. Now every Father's Day I thank my youth pastor for being the earthly father I never had.
Always remember that you have a heavenly father who loves you more than any earthly father Ever could. That's what I tried to tell my Niece and Nephew My brothers are father died when they were very young but He was never really in their lives to begin with I mean he was always in and out of prison And he passed away in 2020 at the age of 34 I know he loved his children but I just always want his children to know that they have a heavenly father who loves them just as much as any earthly father ever could.
I've been in some capicity of law enforcement my entire life but this scene in particular stood out more than any other. Years ago, my rookie year, in the academy I remember my range instructor talking about it all just being a job, to go home at the end of the day safely, and love your families, otherwise what are you workign so hard for. Fast forward over ten years later, thank you to the filmmakers for helping to put things in perspective
I liked the later part (not shown here) where the younger police officer is writing a letter to the mother of his child (in a voiceover). I thought it was extremely well thought-out, especially for a new Christian (which that part of the script was probably written by a mature believer, in reality). But everything he wrote, how he worded it, and the order in which it was written, was very concilliatory and wise. It wasn't too lengthy; he didn't include extraneous information. Neither did it come off as "preachy" or self-righteous. He also backs up his words with financial support for his daughter. It really touched me, because I knew that even though he was very polite and said, "I have no expectations," I could just "hear" the cynics (mostly female non-believers, likely having been in or known someone in a similar situation) insisting that he was being manipulative and was only interested in acquiring custody of the girl after having shirked all involvement in her life for years. I didn't get that at all. This movie has the strong potential to minister truth and grace in the lives of many hurting people. I'm sorry I didn't watch it sooner.
being a good person includes not boosting of what you have done right or wrong but doing what you do for the sake of others and your self and lives god through you.
Adamguy2003 glad to see whatever that comment you were talking about is gone. This movie was insanely awesome. I remember when my dad took our family to see this in theaters when I was 11

Who'd have guessed that a Christian movie could have such cool action scenes and nice humor while still remaining true to the Gospel and present it in such a great way?
Even though I’m an atheist (i don’t want to have a debate about that so plz respect my thoughts as I do yours), I absolutely agree with this film’s message of fatherhood. Any man can create a child, but it takes a real man to be a dad. I’m not a father myself and I’m not ready to be one yet, but I hope that I have what it takes to be a father and be in my child’s life.
I'm not an atheist but I agreed with what you're saying. As long as you're there for your child and love them unconditionally that's what you need. Doesn't hurt to choose the right partner. As Adam said later in the movie mother's we're never intended to carry the weight alone. As I say if it takes two to make them it takes two to raise them. XD
praise the Lord for movies with sound doctrine such as this one! May God continue to open doors for this ministry around the world, for His glory and the fulfillment of the Great Commission , Amen.
My Dad said to me when my older Daughter was born.... "Any Guy can get a Woman pregnant and have a kid....it takes a Man to a Father, to provide, to Teach and guide that Child"
My father is my Hero.. My mother... left when I was 13.. Just walked out on me and my little brother.. He was killed in 1995.. I tried to call her.. she would not take my call....
"8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast."- Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV), "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;"- Titus 3:5 (KJV), & "I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain."- Galatians 2:21 (KJV)
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Praise God that he did the hard part for us and all we have to do to go to heaven is believe!
Believing has to do with dying to yourself and conforming into the image of Christ which means your nature WILL change and you will obey God through action which proves the faith is true. The old testament was about fulfilling do's and don'ts, but the New testament is about *becoming something new/transforming.* The scripture says that if you live in the flesh, you will die, but if you mortify the deeds done in the body, you will live. The scripture says that the people who are not under the law are *those who walk in the spirit.* In other words, a person's nature changes and their actions follow naturally. If you remember, Jesus spoke to the scribes and Pharisees and said that if you clean the inside, the outside will be clean also. So, the idea that we will believe and continue in sin while being a Christian is wrong and unbiblical. However, dying to self and removing the old man and putting on the new man and walking in the spirit is right. By the spirit is where the law of liberty is. So, it's not that we don't have to keep God's commandments, we do and must, because even the New Testament says that no murderer has eternal life, and he who hates his brother is a murderer. However, we do not overcome in our own strength, but by the power of The Spirit who transforms us as we learn to walk in him. Faith is a relational term, and Jesus says they who love me are those who keep my commandments. What I'm preaching is not a works gospel, though some may think it is. Works involve using your own strength. The grace I'm talking about is to die to oneself and become one spirit with Christ so that he can live with his nature through you, and Grace not only forgives you for your sins, but empowers you to live the life. It is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us, and the life we now live We live to the Son of God who died and gave himself for us. If I am saying anything wrong, take this to the Lord and let him lead you and let him tell you what's the truth is and perfect it in you.
