  • This video shows the construction and build-up of a gravel driveway using X-Grid gravel drive grids. It shows how to install the gravel driveway product through a time-lapse of a real gravel driveway installation.
Due to the SUDS regulation introduced in the UK in 2015 which dictates the permeability of surfacing to help combat the effects of urbanisation and reduce the risk of urban flooding, many people are deciding to choose a permeable gravel driveway construction, as opposed to a traditional concrete or tarmac construction.
By using the highly engineered and specially designed X-Grid, you can create a strong, long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing driveway which can be customised to your exact specification. With such a huge range of different colours of gravel and aggregate available in the UK, there's sure to be one which suits the look of your home and garden.
Manufactured by GCL Products in the United Kingdom using 100% UK recycled plastic, X-Grid is capable of withstanding loads of up to 60 tonnes per axle, while only weighing just over 5kgs per m². This makes X-Grid ground reinforcement and gravel retention grids possibly the strongest product of its type anywhere in the world!
Having sold over 3,000,000 units worldwide, X-Grid is certainly one of the most popular gravel grids around. You can join the thousands of satisfied and proud owners of gravel driveways by purchasing your X-Grid gravel driveway grid from www.matsgrids.co.uk/59-gravel...

X-Grid might be a great product and all for gravel substrates, but the owner of that brick patio only needed to pressure wash the shit out of it, and maybe redo the trim to give it a cleaner nicer border. It would have been a lot cheaper, a lot easier, and they could take the time to pressure wash the side of the house too.

Yeah I can't see the sense in taking that up. Brick is more expensive but requires maintenance, in my experience maintaining a gravel driveway is a massive PITA compared to brick.

It’s cheaper to gravel but not if you do it that way 😂 that is completely over the top , i levelled mine with a rake , laid the hardcore , whacker plated it then breathable driveway membrane then gravel grid then gravel and it’s perfect 2years later and that’s with work vans on and off it all day , it cost me 2 grand for a area simalar to that on the video , if you do it that way it will probably be 6 grand

Why on earth would anyone replace perfectly good brick with gravel? The cost of materials, labour and disposal of the existing probably cost at least 20 x the price of a decent pressure washer. What a waste of time, money........ And a lovely brick driveway.
