Excellent job and you explained the process very well. I have always wondered about the method used on that type of seat. Thanks for taking the time to make and upload the video, I always learn a little bit every time I watch one of your videos.
Incredible job man🤟 as I've said many times before, thank you for sharing your wisdom! If I'm 1/10th as good as you one day ill be stoked! Keep it up man!
Just wondering. Somone talked about delamination. In your experience, how does this extra glueing process stand the test of time? By the way it looks magic☺
Thank you David for watch my videos we us upholster know the nothing is forever sooner or later the customer has to repair or replace this seat cover. Like the way I see it : to make this cover last longer . We have to keep on might thise 3 things 1- foam preparation, 2-it is not recommended to use a thin fabric. why? Because required to put a good amount of glue and we don't want that glue come Though the fabric. (Preferable soft fabric.) I don't recommend leather or vinyl for thise seat cover. 3-the last thing let the glue dry properly.. by following those three things I will say this job can last for minimum 8 years. if Customer take care of will last for 15 to 20 years . Other factor very important foam density has to be 2.5 pounds density don't use a less density because is not not going to last for longer.
How is it that you make a skidsteer molded vinyl seat like on Bobcats? All new foam and design foam or this similar technique? Do you have any skidsteer seat videos. Awesome videos. Thanks Patrick
It is the same technique. Because is vinyl any Little mistake I will show.. if you are going to make it from the scratch I recommend you to use between 2.5 and 3.5 density foam. Make the design on the foam will take time because you has to sand it smooth as possible. then on top of that I recommend you to put a quarter of an inch headliner foam . That is more then enough to eliminate any bum And the last thing begins tracing the vinyl as you see me doing on that seat don't use hast vinyl. thanks you cowlhwoods for watching my videos .
Great job Meca as usual. I assume these seats are made this way for cost savings, but I would definitely suspect they are maybe prone to delamination problems? Would it be better to spend some time to convert them to a design using Velcro or lasting with wires and hog rings if possible?
You are a hundred percent right my friend . they are made it that way like you say to save money and the thing is there are some customer when they want to reupholster they want the same thing even if I show them a different idea and will look better and I think it will last longer but they wanted the same as original , we can not do nothing about it Dave . Thanks for watch mi videos.
Sometime I screw the center console to the floor car, before to make any hole you have to make sure nothing is behind under like cable so make sure that Here is otherway how I do it is get a piece of wood glue it with expandable foam to the floor then you screw the center console to that piece of wood .

I have a question what is the best way to screw down a fiber glass center console?? Or any fabricated center console to your car?
