That breathing thing is interesting as! There probably isn't much science behind it, but if it gave him a psychological advantage, I can see why he was such a good player
Guess what. The breathing probably actually did help because it would give his body more oxygen to work with, it probably also braced his core and helped him focus. When you’re at the gym and you do any sort of lift, what do you do? You take a big breath in and lift

Roy Cazaly was inducted into the Swans' Hall of Fame in 2009 and in 2022 he was elevated to what are currently nine special men in the club's history - "Bloods Champions."

Apparently he was responsible for Hawthorn changing their nickname from Mayblooms to Hawks, just another thing to add to his legacy.

I’m the great grandson of Roy and I can confirm this however it was actually his daughter Patricia first suggested the name Hawks to him.

Yeah its definitely named after him. It was a strategy to try and promote afl in regional Queensland I believe
