one of the amazing places to see in jamshedpur. Its a important tourist hub.
This lake is a nice place to spend some time in calm and beautiful surroundings. Many people come here for picnic. Also there is dam also from where water is supplied to the city.Dimna lake basically is a storage from where water supply takes place for the city of Jamshedpur. It is maintained by Tata Steel , which also has a Training Centre cum Guest House. It is around 8 km from main town side ends with the patamda road going around it while the other end is the spillway of the Dimna dam, The Tata management center RMMDC falls in the middle with a long walk along the dam on either side of it. You can find many picnic groups all along the Dimna Hills and Lower gardens. The RMMDC is a lovely place with cottages for Tata Officers only.The serene beauty of the manmade Dimna lake is to be seen to be believed. Nestled between gentle hills, the lake reflects light and shadow at dawn and dusk producing the most picturesque effects.
The only drawback is the plastic and non-biodegradable litter as well as the ugly scratched graffiti along the dam walls. It seems that Indian public lacks civic sense and care for the environment.
Still, the spot is recommended for its charm and beautyDimna is the main Reservoir from where the City of Jamshedpur gets it water. Its a huge lake on the foothills of Dalma. It used to be a popular Picnic spot for families , groups, couples but now it seems people avoid it as its not considered to be safe. there have been stray incidents of way lading, snatching, instigated quarrels, rapes and murders. The lake is pretty well-known as a picnic spot with its clear water and scenic surroundings, creating scope for mini treks into the hills, and water activities such as boating, rowing, and jet skiing among many others.
A gorgeous sunrise coming up from behind the hills, with splendid greenery and melodious chirping of birds is what sets this artificial lake apart as a traveller's destination. It is a popular weekend getaway for the local people of Jharkhand, or as a recreational outing for tourists on an extended tour.
#Chandil_Lake
Chandil Dam standing on the Subarnarekha River is a place of scenic beauty. This dam is one of the most visited places of jharkhand. The museum located close to the Chandil dam has scripts written on rocks,which are 2000 years old.
The multi-purpose chandil dam was built across the meeting place of both the rivers. The dam is 220 meter in height and the height of its water level is 190 meter from different places tourists coming from different parts of the country enjoy boating and the natural beauty in and around the dam.Chandil is famous for its importance in the field of tourism. The River Swarnarekha flows through this region. The Karkori River originating from the Hundru falls mingles with the Swarnarekha River here at chandil.
