This video describes the work our young neurodivergent data analysts undertake every day at Australian Spatial Analytics.
At Australian Spatial Analytics, our Data Analysts work on all sorts of projects that affect everyone’s lives. From the electricity that powers your home to the fibreoptic cable rollout that provides your internet, this is what we get up to on a typical day.
First, we arrive at the office in the morning to start the working day. We then get together to discuss what everyone is doing on each project throughout the day. You might be learning a new software program or working through tasks that have been clearly set out for you.
If you’re learning something new, our experienced team will help you with on-the-job training so you can learn new skills at your own pace. You could also be working on critical infrastructure like an electrical grid or an international airport terminal.
Our Lead Data Analysts are always there to help you if you need to ask questions. Our team wants you to succeed, and we’ll tailor our training to suit your learning style.
But it’s not all work! We love getting together over lunch. Sometimes, we play video games to break up the day.
We also have personal and professional support from our awesome People Success Officers to help you with your career journey. This might include help with building confidence, teamwork, public speaking, gaining confidence, or resume tips for when you transition your employment to another organisation.
You can also be involved with our social committee or our other activities, like our LGBTQIA+ Working Group, which meets once a month.
In the afternoon, you will continue working on your tasks, and your project lead will help you check your work.
After a great day at work, it’s time to go home. Sometimes, we might hang out doing cool things like rock climbing or go out for drinks and dinner, but only if you want to! Then you’ll see everyone tomorrow.
