In this video tutorial i'm using mercerized cotton yarns called YarnArt Begonia(50g/169m/185yds) of Turkish origin. The hook is 2.7mm (or C/2 in USA size or 12 in Canada/UK size).

I love this pattern. However, I'm having great difficulty with the fabric waving and ruffling, regardless of my hook size. I'm using an American thread that's somewhere between a #10 and #20 wt. I've used hook sizes 2.00mm, 1.80mm. 1.65mm, and a 1.40mm. I've tried modifying the pattern, and using a standard #10 wt thread. All combinations have serious ruffling, unlike your tutorial piece. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

It's happening because there is tightly packed stitches in the middle, you can fix it by blocking it
