That was a very helpfull video for a novice like me. I was able to complete my 2nd night of imaging and created a stacked image, and adjusted in Photoshop. Great to learn from experts like you. Much appreciated!
You do nice clear tutorials. As someone else points out, Affinity Photo (Mac or Windows) will stack FITS and has a nice way of handling different filters and calibration frames. AP also has PS-like editing. Not free but only 70 onetime. Free one month introduction use too. Would be nice if you would do a video on AP. Versions for Mac and Windows. Lots of astro macros available too.
Hey, Peter! I saw your viral video titled (Catastrophe and Cartography - Ice Age Floods Visualized) which has 505K views. I liked this video a lot, after that I watched a lot of your videos and I think your video is addictive.
I love all your instructional videos. They have really helped me understand my equipment and the process. My MAC version ASI Studio DeepStack does not create a TIFF file. And looking at the online help documentation from inside DeepStack, it too does not show TIFF. Any ideas or suggestions to create TIFF on MAC.
Siril is an amazing program and works for both Mac and windows. It’s extremely user friendly, not like the atrocious interface of pixinsight. Ever though of reviewing Siril (or did you even try it out at all)? Deep sky stacker is outdated…
I know Pete doesn’t answer these replies much but for anyone reading, I tried ASI Deep stack on a Macbook air with just lights and it went through the motion then said all files were ignored… nothing stacked. Pete makes it sound like he never uses anything by lights. Before I hit the play button though, I can see my image. Anyone have any thoughts?
@@huexley I don’t understand that. We spend thousands on gear but people always want to cheap out on the single most important part, the actual processing. It’s only $230 and is head and shoulders better than any other post processing program. Even NASA uses it to make RGB images from JWST

Badlands Chugs outro is Incredible. Great video.

Really nice video.. do you know if you can stack multiple nights worth of data and with multiple calibration frames to one final stacked image?
That’s what I want to know.

Nicely explained. I wonder if you have tried Affinity Photo on a Mac which will stack FITS and does a nice job of processing.
I've just tried this with fits from ASI2600MC Pro and the tiff file contains very little data (same target East Veil Nebula)

The Title: Stack FITS on a Mac with ASI Studio. So why could you not show the whole workflow on a Mac?
Same workflow on mac as on in windows in ASI STUDIO.
Dear sir, full frame OR crop sensor dslr will be good for astrophotography??
Please give me a suggestion.
Why not, in Photoshop, use the Camera Raw Filter for your contrast and color processing of the final image?

Peter, Siril works much better on a Mac, there are scripts that make it fairly easy for a beginner.
I really like Siril, and its very easy to script. This way I can create my own recipe and "just wait" to process.
Siril is the most confusing thing I’ve ever used
Just use pixinsight lol
I thinks its about the price :D

@@Hot-Dog-Racing it depends on what’s your goal, I just have a star adventurer and doing astro 2-3 times a year. PI is an overkill.
