This isn't the first time with FHP. There's another video out there that was way worse than this one. They were playing bumper cars on the interstate between civilian cars chasing a stolen car. Thank you for sharing.
Retired CA cop here. It is very hard to get hired by another agency in CA if you resign in lieu of termination. Sometimes you can wait a period of time and apply to certain agencies that nobody with options would choose to work (National City comes to mind). It all depends on why you faced termination.
I've gotten into the backseat before with a detainee, but it was to keep her from cracking her head open after being arrested for a DWI while we drove her to the hospital. Of course my shift partner was driving.
Any cop (of either sex) who has to stop on the way to the jail to do anything with a detainee (of either sex), waits for a second officer to arrive before even opening up the back door! This idiot officer even told her everything was recorded - did he not realize that the unit's GPS was too? Man, this gives a black eye to everyone from recruits in academy to the chief and they best fix it PDQ.
Imagine what else and who elses fluids are on his belt gloves and boots. There some nasty people out there. Its the fact hes on duty not the fact he was with her.
Hate to tell ALOT of people...but THIS happens on almost every force. Alrhough granted it may not be with a suspect...they meet people though....on cases...and trust me it happens ALOT....and they can get by with alot.
