I just got my visa B2 approved 🎉 it took only 2 minutes and consular asked me 5 questions mostly related to my work, reason why I want to visit and if I know someone in usa. My advice: be confident and don’t make lots of documents ready as there is no reason for. I wish everyone good luck with their visas ❤
As I mentioned earlier the questions was mostly related to my work. She started with the question why I want to visit usa and when I am going to visit and how lang I would stay. It took only 2 minutes and by the end she smiled and said “approved “. Be relaxed and confident. I wish you good luck. 🍀
I applied for a B1/B2 visa and when I went for an interview, there were so many people who were more qualified than me who had doctorate degree or working in a good company in India got rejected. My nerves were kicking in but when my turn came it latest less than 5 minute and they approved my visa. Questions they asked me. 1. Purpose of Visit (I had an event to attend plus training) 2. How is that event related to the work that you do or with your organization ( I explained how its related) 3. How long will u be there (4-5 weeks) 4. Who is sponsoring you? (My organization) And then she said “congratulations your visa is approved” and now I have a 10 year Multiple Entry Visa! I’m 28 year Old, Single and a woman. She never asked me for any supporting documents, or asked me how much I make or asked my ties to my home country. My question- Do they do background check before hand and already know which applicant they can approve or not? And the interview is just for formalities? Or since my organization is a US base organizations?
This is making a lot of sense. I was denied and I suspect I was too brief and not articulate enough. I made all honest presentation. Can I apply again?

At what intervals did you apply... I applied twice in Nigeria 2017 and 2019 and my 3rd application was Jan 2024, all refused. Thinking of appearing again before the end of 2024.
@chaiandcoaching 3rd application is in the UK. The first two in Nigeria were for conference. While the 3rd was a visitors/tourist visa. Asked why I'm going to the US, my job, and my family, then asked why I'm travelling alone when I have my family with me in the UK, which I answered and gave my reasons. And boom he handed me the rejection letter.

The applicant was single when the sister filed the petition after 20 years, the applicant received a notice of immig visa case creation they both weren't able to update us about the status now married and have 2 children. Is this going to be a problem? Can she include her son's and spouse in the ceac application or do they need to be petitioned later? Thanks much
Oh MY God! You guys! It's just a judgement call and next time it can be a yes.... But what makes you all think that there will be a next time for the person applying for the visa? 😂 This is unbelievable. In some countries the cost of US visa is as much as a month's salary! And the prior expenses that the applicant has already made (say a tourist or a clerkship candidate who has already paid the programme fees that's non-refundable). Why is it left upto the "judgement" call? And what else could convince an officer if not the proper documents and proof of admission/tickets/receipts/financial statements and assets? Am I the only one with such concerns?

I got a 3 year ban after overstaying by 182 days during lockdown. I couldn’t get on my flight because of positive covid test, all the European countries started going into lockdowns and no direct flights (could only transit in these countries) sent my anxiety through the roof! Never overstayed a visa before. Am I eligible to have my ban forgiven? I’d like to vacation in the states! My ties aren’t so strong but if I intended to stay there, I wouldn’t have left!

I'm an American living in the Philippines and married to a Philippina. We were marriedNovember 2023. I want to bring my wife with me when I visit the USA to see my family but my wife was ref noused a visa before we were involved. I invited her to visit as I had become friends with her and her family. I am retired and she owns a working rice farm and has a large family.
What would be best for us to do?
Would it be possible to join her in the interview and explain that we plan on living in the Philippines?

On the question ’what does the officer know’, do they have or can they access UK databases such as:
1. Previous Address history
2. Police records / database
3. Credit history, bankruptcy etc.
Or do they only really have the information we give them?
I don’t think so, they only have what you give them
