you prolly dont care but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch all the latest movies on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my brother lately =)
Finally a clear video!!! have spent at least 4 hours searching and throwing every usb stick against the wall!!! this video should be on the Roland page!!! Is more useful than that useless info on their website!!! thx bro :)
Thank You for your specific directions and guidance! Very clear and helpful. I've now gotten my Roland updated with 16gb memory(MUCH TRIAL AND ERROR figuring out that cables were being inserted ( BASS AKWARDS!) It's all better now and working as it should! Thanks Again
i've tried this many times and can't get it to work. my QUICK and EXIT button i know work..but i think my "ALL SOUND OFF" button doesnt work (at least that's my theory). the biggest issue i have is that when i'm in a menu, i can press the " + " button to go down the menu but the " - " (or any other button) wont let me scroll up in the menu
Hey there! Greetings from 2022! :) I'm having kind of trouble that after updating 1.08 my mac os catalina doesn't see the spd-sx like an external storage (usb mode - wave mgr). I had installed the mac os catalina drivers but still same. It's interesting that before update 1.08 I was using 1.06 and it works fine on mac os catalina. Do you have any recommendation? Or should I just install 1.06 again? All the best.
I can't find how to update, I am using OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and my sps-sx is version 1.01... When I am pressing the buttons nothing happen just until the spd starts like normal... Any help would be apreciated
Great question! I'm still using the same one in the video on Big Sur and works fine. I did have to check their website for updates though! From my knowledge, the official Roland one should work too. Neither automatically update from my knowledge, so it'd be a case of checking the relevant websites!
Hi! Followed all the instructions yet I still don't get the update screen. I only get the usual startup screen and then it just goes to the last Kit I used. Any idea what could be wrong? I have version 1.05 and have been having some issues with slight distortion and random cut-offs. Thought it could be a bug and so I'm trying to see if an update will solve the issue. Thanks!
How odd! The only things I can think of is that the SPD isn't reading from the memory stick. I believe they only work up to 32GBs (check on the Roland website to be sure though!) as mine was only a small 8GBs. If not, make sure the memory stick is formatted correctly and there aren't any partitions. And then finally, try and make sure to hold the three keys down when booting up, sometimes they might not pick up!
Could be anything! If you’ve got lots of big samples, then it’ll take longer. Have a look on a computer (if possible) at the file size of the sample - you might be able to re-export it so it takes up less room and then the load time will be shorter!
I have one more question about the1,2,3 pads because they don't have sensitivity like other pads. I am changed the sensitivity settings but the 1,2,3pads need to hit harder. Can you help me?
Hey now, I am having an issue. I downloaded the newest driver, how ever I don't get the zip folder? Can you please help me? Cheers, Seth SPD-SX System Program (Ver.1.08)
Great question! The way I do it is to plug in the SPD-SX to a computer and remove them with the Wave Manager. I’m sure there’s another way, but that’s how I do it!
@@tonyizor great question! I’m not entirely sure, so to be on the safe side I would back things up before updating. I’ve never had an issue so far, but I also have backups of the important kits - best of both worlds!
Hi there Thanks for the video Just a question I have version 1 on my SPDS at the moment and would like to use triggers, do I update to version 6, or if I update to version 8 will it also include the triggers ? Thanks
Gospel Revisited Project thanks so much! Just to check - is that the SPD-S or the SPD-SX? If it’s the SPD-S, I’m sadly not sure as that’s the older model and I don’t have experience with it. If you’re running the SPD-SX, then the newer versions give support for Roland’s triggers, so I’d recommend updating if you can! I hope that helps!
Liked and subbed, but here’s my criticism. This video could have been shorter, the relevant info could have been conveyed significantly quicker. When you explained what buttons need to be held down you should have shown those buttons on the screen with text, and then repeated it a few times verbally.
Thank you so much for the comment! Completely agree with you. Slowly trying to get better on each video with this sort of thing, so I'm glad we're on the same page!
@@DrumElectric - You have a natural talent for public speaking and entertaining. I get why you wanted to make the video a bit more personal and fun. You’re a proper charismatic drum-tech nerd and I like that. However when grumpy old twats like me with two screaming kids in the background are frustrated we just want information fast! Maybe an idea would be to have the relevant info explained very dryly and bluntly at the start then all the other info after. Almost like a quick start guide in a manual. But then I know many people won’t watch until the end which isn’t ideal for growing your channel and community. I forgot to mention that you’re info worked a treat so thank you. Why getting load time while changing kit?

I had the same; my usb cable was still plugged in (not in the computer, just loose hanging from the spd). When I took it out, it worked..

But I am brought a new spd sx today, I am didn't import anything but still showing loading while changing kit.
@@abi.n3945 Interesting! How long is the load time? There’s usually a load time, but it’s only maybe half a second

Will the old tones go away???
No! All the settings and sounds stay on the SPD-SX

Thanks
Will updating delete my wave files ?
Nope!
