My mom had two masters in education when she married my dad (who only had his bachelors at the time) she made more than him by FAR. But when my dad got his masters and my mom had me in 1995, she decided to stay home and be a mom. 23 years and 6 kinda later, my mom went back to work and is only making less because she works in parish school instead of a public one. But she raised me and my siblings and was there for us before and after school. She reached her full potential by being out mom :) and now she’s a superhero at her school!

She worked hard to get where she is and had to deal with all the people telling her she wasn't going to make it in the field and even some men assaulting and harrassing her because it was a predominately male line of work. I think something people need to see is girls want equality and everything, but there is still some sort of stigma against women doing "men's jobs". And no matter what you believe in why cant we all just have an open mind? Women work less demanding jobs, I work construction, my union struggles to find women that can handle the work, we need more women so we don't look bad yet 8 of the last 10 women quit after less than 3 months because they couldn't handle the work.they were demanding breaks every hour when we already get a hour lunch and 3 fifteen minute breaks. The women we do have working refuse to work overtime so we end up having to look for more people.

My aunt actually works construction in the Union and is constantly traveling as well. She worked hard to get where she is and had to deal with all the people telling her she wasn't going to make it in the field and even some men assaulting and harrassing her because it was a predominately male line of work. I think something people need to see is girls want equality and everything, but there is still some sort of stigma against women doing "men's jobs". And no matter what you believe in why cant we all just have an open mind? When I argue I keep calm and actually listen and consider the other size, If I still hold my opinion I just say, "that is interesting but I still hold true to my point, beliefs, etc..."

Only later in life did I realise how important this play was, it was role play, building confidence in various situations and various people, opening my mind to many different ways to relate that have proved invaluable throughout my life. A social education that I never recieved at school.
It was also a direct link to my ancestors as the games, the songs and the crafts we learnt from my mother are ones that she had learnt from hers.

Like, don't get me wrong- the 70c to every dollar statistic is misrepresented here- but there are tonnes of working moms who bust their asses working overtime. Mine was one of them. She consistantly used to have to stay in work an hour extra or more.
