And there were other arguments Yagami could have made, for example, bullying didn't stop even though he killed 7 of them, heck, he and the boys had to save Koda.

And the main villain never had a valid counterargument to it, all he did was evading it, the same behaviour as the people he killed.

@@lacasadelpop4593 true, another thing Yagami could have pointed out is that most people would see it as him lashing out because of regret for doing a shoddy work as a teacher, resulting in his student in a coma, also, his claim that they have nothing on him legally is BS, they don't have the bodies, but, inciting a crime is a felony, so, what he did can be legally proven if Reiko or any accomplice feel like testifying, he can also be considered the mentor of two of those crimes, which means he goes down with Ehara and Reiko, and since Yagami has proof that establishes a motive for the murders Ehara and Reiko committed...

The thing in Yakuza that caused me the most amount of rage was Yakuza 0’s Proving Grounds 6. The one where you have Breaker Majima in a club and have to reach a certain amount of money from fighting the breakdancing boys.
That one was absolute HELL for me.

    • @lukecwolf
      @lukecwolf ปีที่แล้ว +27

The big issue is that a lot of it's RNG. Like the only way to get through that level is to not get slapped by the dancer boys, making your multiplier get higher and higher. But like climax battle 4 i think is unforgivable with majima constantly switcjijg styles. Just when you're stringing combos, you switch styles and it sucked

Saejima’s Prison Breakout long battle in 4. That legitimately made my blood boil. The guards knock you down constantly, the snipers fire too fast, and Saitoooo… all while you’re still figuring out Saejima’s clunky fighting style for the first time with scarce healing items and rationing skill upgrades mid-battle that can make or break your chance of success.
Oh yeah, then you have to fight Kiryu right after, where he can use Heat Actions and Tiger Drop you.
I know the entire Prison section of 5 is too long and really boring, but at least RGG had the decency to let you roam Kamurocho and gain skills while practicing against low-risk street thugs before throwing you into the deep end.

      get 3 upgrades:
      1. invincibility during sucessful parry animation
      2. heat gain after parry
      3. parry heat action
then just hold guard button and input parry heat action whenever you gain enough heat. Repeat until there are no guards standing. This strat notably doesnt rely on sacred armor at all (i beat the game without it using the strat above), as you cant be hit in parry animation nor in heat actions. The only problem is that this doesnt work on medium or easy, because guards dont spam attacks on lower difficulties.

-Unskippable repetitve cutscenes in minigames where you have to see over and over again. (Bowling, darts etc.)
-Catfight minigame in Y0. It is RIGGED in ever sense of the word. If the game decides u lose the button mashing, does not matter how many time you press the buttons.
-Weird frametime issues, more than 60 fps ruining minigames and horrible anti-aliasing in Kiwami 2. (Silent patch fixes it thankfully).
-Having to play the FUCKING PHONE CLUB minigame and getting the ugly girl who takes your health instead of getting the girl i need for the substory. Seriously who thought Phone club minigame should have 6 substories tied to it????????
-Not having menu-saves and having to find a payphone.
-Unskippable tied-to-animation cutscenes in Y5. (The ones you walk with a character).
-Bounce on block in Dragon Engine games. (Thankfully there is mods to fix that).
-Stupid protagonists turning their backs to guns.

About 10-15 shots at it, all side quests and business shit done, and I just gave up, watched TH-cam for the rest of the story, and now am hoping 8 is back to the tried and true formula. Probably not gonna happen, but a guy can dream. Sucks I’m getting pushed out of a series I love so much cause I can’t git gud at RPG combat and mechanics. I really do hope 7 was a one-off. That attack that hits you with 500 damage no matter what didn't even kill my ichiban at that point so I didn't even need that ability. Those are pretty on point. I think Yakuza 4 prison jailbreak deserves a spot just for Saito alone. Saejima can easily become a powerhouse monster later in the game, yes. But consider that you just have been introduced to a much slower, different combat style compared to Kiryu/Akiyama and you're still getting how it works, this guy not does only strike hard and evade swiftly. No, this guy re-appears several times with a longer health bar than before when you don't expect it. And considering how few healing items are available in prison (yes, there are free healing herbs on the prison yard, but... who the hell did farm for them unless they were on a second playthrough and fully knew what was coming next?), it can be rough for some people. Sniper guy didn't help, either.
And now that we're still on the topic of Saejima, hunting chapters in 5 are tedious, too. He becomes a really enjoyable character to play as later on, but it seems that his early chapters always get a negative effect on him.

I never celebrated the death of a character in this series who wasn’t a one-note antagonist like Jingu or Munakata before or after her. She was a horrible person.

    - ultimate batle 2 in Y0 (that fight against masaru sera sucked and he did like 2x damage, did half your health bar with a trip attack)
    - Dart and Pool minigames in yakuza 3 (hard to do due to very sensitive stick controls on controller)
    - The caberet manager minigame in Y3 and Y4 (took so long to get to #1 and you had to do all four for the substories to get to the amon bossfight)
    - The trophy in Y4 that can be only completed on normal Diffculty causing you to have one extra playthrough for the plat
    - Judgment dice game grinding for money
    - Trying to get specific hands in Mahjong(such as pair or something i dont rmemeber the name)
    - Fishing in Y5 (i probs had bad luck but it toook like 5 hours to get all the fish in the sea and rivers)
    - the high min game compeltion requirements for Y0(max bets are for 1k yen and you had to make 1mil)
    - Y6 clan creator and the trophy that requires 100 wins(grind wsas boring as fuck)

The first Shimano fight in Kiwami 1 was a complete wakeup call for me. Coming off the heels of 0 as my very first Yakuza game and having an all around smooth time with it, the amount of blocking and breaking out of combos Shimano did really shocked me. And then that trend didn't change at all for the duration of my time with the game. I got so fed up with it after a certain point that I literally dropped it somewhere near the end and just watched the rest online. It's funny because I don't recall having anywhere near as much trouble with K2. But then after I got to the remasters I started to connect some dots. To be honest, after having gone through the whole series now, I could probably go back and play K1 proper. And maybe I will someday.
Also, as an aside, I really feel like the fight between Tanimura and Munakata at the end of Yakuza 4 belongs here too. Legitimately the worst fucking fight I've ever experienced in a video game. "Yeah let's give the guy with the combat style that works really well in one on one combat 30 guys to try and fight at once all while the actual boss runs away and shoots you every 5 seconds." Actually awful. "Oh but the sacred tree armor" I may hear someone say. Look man, I didn't have it for that fight. I didn't even know about it before I was ready to be done with the game.

Specifically, there's this fat guy with brass knuckles. His attacks are unblockable, he has a ton of health, blockuza, he was legitimately tougher than the boss he was guarding, which I guess makes sense outside of video games.
You don't know how much it knocked the wind out of my sails, because I thought I was just awful. Then I mopped the floor with Mr. "Un the ruff" and was just like "never fucking mind, I guess it was just that one guy."

I've said this a bunch before, but it's surprising to me I got as much into the series as I did after starting with Kiwami. The Shimano fight, bosses having healing, Majima at the batting cages kicking my ass so hard I finally stocked my inventory with sushi, only for him to annoy me forever with his random battles everywhere, Jingu, and then the impossible Climax Battles that I still can't complete, but looking up how to beat them was how I found your channel.
Oh, the most annoying thing I've experienced was during my Legend playthrough of 7. I got to the first dungeon and got all the way to the little crane fight underground but it kept destroying me in 2 hits. I tried several times trying to buff everyone to survive, until I realized the reason it was so hard was because I was trying to level jobs before I went in and had a lot fewer stats than the ones I had higher up. So despite the fact I made it to the end, which was incredibly grueling, I couldn't finish it because can only change at Hello Work for some reason. PLEASE, for Yakuza 8, at least let us change jobs at save stations too.

Chases were definitely a lot more grueling in 3 before we got throwables. I feel like the substory ones were mostly fine, if a bit clunky at times, but the Mack training segments are nearly impossible.

    • @lyricsghost2547
      @lyricsghost2547 ปีที่แล้ว

@@scarymeunster9095 Not only the throwables. Your stamina is actually on par or slightly superior compared to the person you're chasing after. All chases from 4 onwards are actually pretty enjoyable. On 3 though, their mistake was to force you to complete Mack's training, which was... not worth enough, imo. I just grieved over those sections and eventually got 'em. But that's the think - the game is so reliant in that you did, that, some substories or even the main story * cough - CIA men section around the Millenium tower and Lau Ka long - cough * can be kind of a nightmare in legend. Some mechanics would benefit from a Kiwami treatment. Combat, too. I've seen people saying "it's skill issue, this game is focused on strategy and that's why you use Komaki Parry and Counter and you're fine". And it's true, these two break the game. Perhaps way too much. But those are as strategical as spamming Tiger Drop to every living creature you encounter. It's just another kind of cheese, and that's it.
I actually have a soft spot for Y3 and it hurts me seeing it as "the worst" for many people. I enjoyed the story and characters a little too much. But I don't understand why should we defend things that aren't too well executed. Sure, for its time, hell it was. Revolutionary, even. Y1 and Y2 too. Way much better than most games from their time. That's what I say to most of my friends that are jumping to the rest of the franchise from 0 (I came from 0 too, not that I'm playing the "veteran" card or whatever) about Y3. You grew up with the PS3/Xbox 360/Wii etc or even older gens? Give it a chance, you won't regret it. It's a great game. Not used to older games and mainly played games from the PS4 gen onwards...? Then, yeah. Maybe you should wait for the Kiwami version.
