To your question, my most recent experiences with Proflight and Air Botswana was satisfactory. No flight delays nor long queues. I did have an unauthenticated SADC community member flight attendant on one of my Proflight flights earlier this year ignore my simple hand sanitizer towel request before eating. But it is what it is with me, Sassy, "No dem no fit kill my vibe". haha
This video brings back memories. ☺️ I flew to South Africa in 2019. During that time, I flew locally between Durban and Jo’burg twice on South African Airways. I found the planes to be a bit dated. But the flights were smooth and the cabin crews were kind on both flights. I liked both airports. But the airports in Johannesburg was especially nice!
Been trying to fly oftenly mostly in Kenya. I can say local and regional aviation is really growing. Especially in Kenya there are so many new airlines coming up. And this has made airfares more affordable than the former years.
I think flying from lagos to Abuja 1 way is around 50,000 naira which is around 100 English pounds. I find that expensive for a 45min journey. Rather go by road. But if you are in a emergency, I guess you may have to fly. So plane flying can be expensive ,but can't be beaten for speed and time compared to road travel. I travelled recently to Morocco from UK and I booked same window seat going and coming. Going, the middle seat was empty but a guy was sitting in the aisle seat. We didn't talk for the 4 hour journey. 2 weeks later on my return journey, the middle seat again was empty, but guess who was sitting on the aisle seat? Yep, same guy. Both of us same seats going and coming on the same days. We were both shocked at this and talked all the way back.
Sassy or anyone who knows..I'm flying from the states August 1st to Lagos. I'm not vaccinated for Covid. I'm not getting it either! Is Nigeria still requiring Negative covid pcr test ? America stopped in June. Can someone give me updated answer?
Flying domestic varies from airlines, some airlines can be fantastic while some can be horrible, south African airways has always been top-flight but to be honest most west Africans airlines are not customer friendly except in Nigeria where most of the airlines have lovely crew.
Except who Nigeria airlines I know you a got damn lie boy stop lying they are the worst boy I know you didn’t like are you serious 🧐 listen don’t get caught lying and be on ya way to hell with gasoline draws on lol 😂 stop the madness lol 😂 This the most hilarious shit ever lol 😂 who Nigerian airlines nice to Ha the white peoples maybe lol 😂 this shit here is the most ridiculous comment of year award Ayo I need to vote this to genus’s world book of the most crazy comment ever Ha Nija lol we no be small lol oooo Lmao 🤣
Hey what's good Sassy. A little late on my responses...apologizes. Been quite busy since returning to the U.S. I really like the 3-4-3 seat configuration. Feels more spacious and airy. I don't know why but I always prefer sitting in a seat forward the exist doors in fuselage. Even as a shorty riding local buses to school I preferred sitting at the front of the bus. It depends for me, when the flight is short I prefer to soar in silence. Longer hauls though I will engage in a conversation when the passenger demonstrates an affable demeanor. The only exception though was from Dar to Mwansa. We had a great conversation on a less than two-hour flight. A couple of questions for you. Does Star Alliance offer this extra luggage weight at no charge when traveling to/within the U.S.? With these new changes and short staffs I think I may be more inclined now to become a member of Star Alliance or similar travel service-certainly after this checked bag charge shocker. These domestic airlines in the U.S. are charging for one checked bag on domestic flights! Yowzah! Secondly, were you able to take a pcr or antigen test upon arrival at OR Tambo airport when you? Been trying to get in touch with the SA embassy in Washington D.C. last week to get a confirmation. Another great video Sassy will check out your more recent vids. Thumbs Up!
Constructive criticism, which you can take or ignore: I’ve watched a couple of your airline reviews/commentaries, and I must say I’m usually left with “why did I just watch this?” face. You don’t give much information about your experience of the airline, and the airport also. If I was considering using the same airline through the same airport to a similar destination, can I make a decision to fly that airline or to not fly it based on your video? The answer is no, I’m basically as clueless as I was before watching your video. You’re always rushing through your videos and providing little info to benefit anyone, I understand you’re trying to make a short video but at least try and hit in those crucial points a traveler from far away is looking for in order to make an informed decision. Please watch Josh Cahill, if you haven’t already, and take a few pointers, I also know he posts longer videos but he provides honest information about the airlines, airport staff, immigration officials and the airport itself, this is the kind of information a traveler wishes to know about before finalizing their travel plans. As short as your videos are, please try to sieve out not so useful information and quickly go through important points: - Price - Check-in process (ease, difficulty) - Airport ( amenities, cleanliness etc) - Immigration ( Ease, difficulty, professionalism) - Aircraft ( New, old, nice, dilapidated) - Airport staff ( attitude, professionalism) - Cabin staff ( Attitude, professionalism) - Do you recommend the airline and/or the airport?
What has been your experience flying local flights in Africa? I know many people are skeptical about flying locally. Let me know your thoughts below
