      low fidelity lends a certain character to sound. sometimes it's not just about the instruments but the stuff that happens in between the sounds the instruments make...

      Alps Noel truth, and on the same coin some black metal would be more listenable with better quality production, like imo lots of Appalachian winter for example is unlistenable. but stuff like sleeping peonies sounds to me a perfectly crap quality! same with fauna, sadhaka, and aylwin which have pretty thorough production quality even though they sound scratchy. the variability in these niche genres it seems leaves less room to pin down titles and rather begin to group by creative title of genre to relate it better to others and compare in enthusiastic communion. comment fueled by northern lights x master kush. this album is amazing.

      "Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

    So the modern "progress" has eaten me up from the inside... and after the body slowly goes the mind. What keeps us sane is subsequently held away. Pages of a book it seems like was never read nor written. Inverse horror vacui, history is not even doomed to be repeated. And in the end we need to ask: is being roped into this... EVEN WORTH ENOUGH to warrant mere existence?!

If anyone has reccomendations for me similar to this, saetia, and i have dreams, I'd love to hear them. also, what is this called? the most common thing I've heard is "emoviolence" and occasionally "real emo" but I don't want to repeat things without being sure they are correct.

       Josh well mostly it's a term invented retroactively to differentiate between the 'first wave'/ real screamo (and bands influenced by that sound) and the later "fake" screamo. it's a silly term, but it makes sense that when two different things have the same name people would feel the need to find a way to categorize it better.

      @AtZero138 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Josh I'm with You Dude.. I was there, so to speak, bands that will go unmentioned here.. but what's with all the sub division and mini genre.. it's all from Hardcore.. bands like, Wolves and Das Oath.. I'm on west coast and plenty of bands came thru, before the My Space flood of copy of copies.. but there was always this Raw Emotional Music that just lived in Hardcore.. Peace

    It literally sounds like someone being killed to emo chaos, fueled by amphetamine. But it's rad.

      "haiku" is a japanese word for a very short form of poetry .. so translated to english, it should be "I wrote poems about cannibalism in your yearbook" .. I guess ;-)

      Most likely an inside joke or a very personal concept to the band themselves. Its common for artsy bands to have a vague name that only their band members know the meaning behind, adds extra emo kudos/points for nostalgia.
