The first episode of the 34th series of the BBC 2 series "Mastermind." Dig that new version of the theme tune. Oooooooh yeah. All rights belong to the the BBC and whoever might want to sue me.
This episode is significant because of the scores of the contenders. Most of the time, we see people winning with 23. Here it came fourth. 36 points is almost impossible.
Would you happen to have episode 13 of this series please, the last specialist subject was The Hangman Albert Pierrepoint. Would like my church to see the video.
Q20 @ 18:23. Needs to be pronounced as Hey Ram..Instead of Hee Ram,..As in Make "Hay" while the sun shines and the "GA" in Gandhi is pronounced as the GA in Garfield and not like in Gary
Because nobody would wanna watch people just say "pass, pass, pass, pass, .." for a whole show. ;) Okay, that was mean :D Couldn't resist being cynical.
@@terencehennegan1439 These shows might be too cerebral for American viewers. We had "GE College Bowl" in the 1960s; "University Challenge" is the British version of that show. There are high-school quiz bowls around the country, but not a national college bowl anymore. "Mastermind" would have to be dumbed down for U.S. viewers (perish the thought). Either makes our toughest quiz, "Jeopardy!", look like child's play as they are now. (I volunteer to host either if they ever make it to American television.)
Knew 14/17 questions about the Siege of Malta. The fact that I happen to be Maltese is entirely incidental :)
Really enjoying watching these. Thanks
Man that first dude was a brain box!

Me too. I'm only here because of Ms. Neiman from UC.

Going from watching 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown to this is a bit of a shock. This show is very abrupt!
New version of theme is very Star Trekky.
Can't help what your born into
Sorry, connection on name Simon Spiro.

Mike Wx good question, I’m amazed it’s not.

What is the point of saying "pass" if you can lose by the number of passes at the end.
Because if you guess a wrong answer instead of pass, you waste time by having to hear the right answer. It's a tradeoff.
supahsekzy I think it's always worth guessing. Sometimes people waste time thinking anyway and just say pazs then.
If your really stuck, pass. If you have a vague idea guess. You might be right
Mr.Mister because the mind goes blank after searching for it without success.
Rather say pass than waste time.
