I love the hymn, Turn Your Eyes Apon Jesus!!! When I go threw a struggle in my life the Good Lord reminds me to look at Him instead of the problems the world will try and throw at you. What a blessing to have a harp teacher that is also God fearing! Tears of joy woot woot!!!!
I've been learning to play for 2 months now. I am learning more arpagios and chords but I can play over 100 hymns now with my right hand quite well and am getting the chords added in on many. I live watching all you do! You are truly a gift from God.
One hymn that has a very happy memory for me is "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross". It is the only hymn I ever played as a recorder duet with my mother. She played alto recorder, and I played bass.
That’s so special! It’s a beautiful song. We actually just released 3 arrangements of that song at the beginning of October, that’s so awesome that you’re talking about it now 😄
Hi Christy-Lyn, Check out the TH-cam with the title, "Axiom A Little Ray Of Sunshine 1970". Axiom was an Australian band in the 70s. Brian Cadd & Glenn Shorrock wrote it. Don't know if it would adapt to the harp very well, but it is a tune about a new baby girl. Cheers.
So happy to find your chanel!! Didn't know you're a christian too!! I'm learning harp to play in our baptist church in Russia and i couldn't find ANY videos about playing harp in Russian language. So i started to look through videos in English and soooooo happy to find a Sister in Christ that is so sweet, that teaches so well and thoroughly and that loves Christ ❤️ May God bless you and the work of your hands! 🙏
Open My Eyes That I May See…. I sing this one every morning. When I was a child, it had little meaning. Now, I realize I will never find the end of knowing God.
I love your harp playing and the stories that you told! You’ve blessed many through your music! Could you please do “Christ the Lord is risen today” if you find the time?
My favorite hymn is “How Great Thou Art” I am old now when I was young I did a lot of over night hikes an multiple nights in.the mountains of California. At night you could see the stars an the Milky Way. I think of Romans 1:16 -25. You have no excuse for not believing.
Hi Christy-Lyn, thank you so much for this amazing video! Please can you recommend music sheets for the hymns "Nearer my God to Thee" and "As the deer" that work on a small harp? Would love a follow-up video with more hymns :) You're the best!
Hi Karen! It is on my list of options, but it didn’t get enough votes. I have to make the courses that are most highly voted for, so that we will sell enough of them to keep going. One thing you could do to make it more possible, is share some of your favourite TH-cam videos of other musicians performing versions of the song How Great Thou Art on the LTH community, and maybe you’ll inspire more people to vote for the song next time! 😃
So I had an easy arrangement for "Amazing Grace" and I (by ear) added "I Need Thee Every Hour" using the same base notes. I also tried to adapt an easy piano version of "I Need Thee..." to play on the the harp. But both are in the key of F (so I have my lever harp tuned to key of F 🤓 and can easily go back to the key of C 😊). I recently purchased your arrangement of "I Need Thee..." because I liked your intro and I just love everything about it❤ Thanks💕
I loved that too picked these Huns because I plan to play the harp at my church along with some other musicians haven't begun yet but in the next few months hopefully we'll have enough to buy my first harp
Thank you for this video!! It hasn’t been easy for me to find this type of christian/Gospel music arrangements for the harp. I think am at an intermediate level, but my practice/playing time is so limited especially now that I had a baby a few months ago (plus 2 other young kids). So, I just don’t have the time to work on long and complicated arrangements because I want to use most of my little time actually playing the songs. I would love if you could due more of this type of video lessons. And I would be very interested on purchasing christian/Gospel/Hymn arrangements. Thanks you so much! I will be trying to learn some of these soon, as soon as I find the time, LoL 😅😊.
This was wonderful!!! 😊 I am a pastors wife, so I play every week for service - I currently play the flute and I will be getting my first harp next week hopefully! 😁😁😁 I Know My Redeemer Lives is my favorite - do you have that one for harp? 🙏🏽 Thank you for all you do! 🤍
Hi there. The challange on this one if you’re doing it in C for example, are a couple of acccidentals. On the verse you have an Ab and Eb to get around. You can substitute around these notes. However on the chorus you need that Bb to get that C7 sound on the 5th measure. Problem is you need a B natural as the first note of the melody of the verse. It’s easier on a lever harp if you make a couple of quick changes. Hope this helps
Hi, thank you, maybe I missed it, but could you comment on the Harpsicle easy music books? There are about 12 or 14 of them and wondered if they are good and easy. :) thanks
I am looking for a simple arrangement for the hymn called Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing and another called Sweet Hour of Prayer. Could you arrange something simple for beginner harp for these two pieces?
Thanks so much for the requests!! I’ve got a few hymns coming up but not those two yet. But I will definitely add them to my list of requests!! Do you also like In the Garden? 😃
Hi there. If you’re talking about the shubert version, you’d have a couple of challanges from a couple of accidentals that you’ll need. If you play it in C, you’ll definately need a C# to play some of the phrases correctly. You also would need a D# and F#, but can get around those notes with some substitution. The problem is that you need a cluster of other natural notes as well. How I do it on a harpsicle is to play the left hand on the lower octave, and alternate the melody on the octave above middle C and I jack up the middle C to C# to do the phrases that need that C# an octave below. Hope this helps.
Here’s a “simplified” chord progression in C or the Shurbert version: Intro: C | C C7 | F Bdim | C Melody Chord Progression C | C G7 | C | Dm G7 | C Caug Am | Gbm7b5 B7 | Abdim | Am | G A7 | G D | G G | C | G7 | Am | G E7 | Dm | F6 Adim | G G7 C | C G | C | C
I've only heard the hymn This is My Father's World, at the beginning of a beautiful song by Martha Tilston. th-cam.com/video/mo0l_eJ1bPQ/w-d-xo.html . So wonderful that I can learn to play it myself now.
These are beautiful! I love And Can it Be but that seems a little too fast for me! Have you heard Be Unto Your Name? th-cam.com/video/wBr1543zHZM/w-d-xo.html (I've only heard this version but there are likely others.)
I am so very happy when you talk og GOD. akes my heart glad

Be Thou My Vision, and Love Lifted Me (Kenny rogers style)
Love it.Love to play.But I don't have one.
Hard to narrow it down to one, but I have. My favorite hymn is "Pie Jesu" (pee ay yayzu). It really beautiful and would be truly lovely on harp.
I Like good music and I love your voice .
relaxing and beautiful

I also like Scarborough Fair and your 2 contest.
Wonderful! You picked some of my favorites. I have so many favorites it is impossible to choose just one. 🙂

Thank you for all you do! 🤍
thank you! do you have a suggestion for "On Eagles Wings" music for beginner harp?
Nope, sorry! I don’t know of any harp music for that song.

The chord progression in C is:
Verse
F | Em7 | F | Em7 | Eb | Cm | Eb Fm | G
Chorus
C | C | Dm | G G7 | C C7 | F Dm | Am Em | Dm7 G | C
BTW, This song is usually done in D
